Hello everyone! Jenn here today to share another fun project with using the amazing Creative Embellishments Chipboards! This project was a break from flowers and frills and a fun journey through the wonderful world of grunge and steampunk!
This is a dimensional project that started as a small tray and picture frame mounted together to create a fun shadow box effect!
I have used the following Creative Embellishments Chipboards
Large Gear Set Black
Small Clock & Gear Cluster
Steampunk Mermaid
Steampunk Chain & Gears Frame
To begin the project, I first coated the box, frames, and bare chippies in black gesso. A piece of steampunk themed paper was added to the inside bottom of the box. Black cardstock was embossed with an industrial embossing folder then cut and added to the frame and box.
Once the paper was adhered, color was added using oxide sprays and waxes. My chipboards were altered with sprays and waxes as well. To assemble the gears into the box, I added small wooden spools and cubes at different levels. Once they were all in place I adhered the frame to the box and embellised with the remaining altered chipboards!
But before all of that…..
I added lights! yes this fun projects also lights up! A strip of fairy lights was adhered to the inside of the box and threaded to the back to adhere the battery box and switch.
