Hello crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a little mixed media project that I created for my home. So let’s get a little messy, here are all of the details.
Creative Embellishments Chipboard Used:
Plywood Cutting Board
Paris Postmark Stencil
Distressed Clock Pieces
Other Products Used:
Distress Spray Stain- Walnut Stain, Rustic Wilderness
Distress Oxide Spray- Walnut Stain
Distress Ink- Vintage Photo
Distress Texture Paste
Idea-ology Small Talk Stickers
White Acrylic Paint
Aged Ivory Embossing Powder
49 & Market Flowers
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L- Creative Photo Corners Kraft, Adhesive Dots Mini, Adhesive Dots Medium, 3D Foam Squares White Mix, E-Z Runner Ultra, Crafty Foam Tape White
First I started by covering the cutting board in gesso. Then using the stencil and texture paste. I added the image near the middle of the cutting board. I also added texture paste to a few spots around the edges of the cutting board for a little more texture. Let dry completely.
I misted the whole piece with water, and then added the coloured misters. I had a piece of paper towel close by, and blotted the areas where I wanted less colour. I also added some water mister in between colours as well. Let dry completely.
I covered the other chipboard pieces in white acrylic paint. Then using an embossing dauber I added Aged Ivory embossing powder around the edges of the shutters.
I added burlap ribbon and twine to the top handle of the cutting board. Then added the shutters to the right hand side of the cutting board. Mat the cropped photo in ivory cardstock and add kraft photo corners to the photo. Adhere on top of the shutters using layers of foam tape. I decided to add the sticker phrases below the matted photo. Finally add the clock pieces around the matted photo.
The final touches are to add the flowers and leaves in clusters around the matted photo.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
