Welcome to July, creative friends! I can’t believe that 2021 is halfway over! Anyway, we are celebrating the 4th of July this coming weekend here in the USA and Creative Embellishments has a fun new sketch Challenge for you. Create a new project using the sketch to enter for a chance to win a gift certificate to the store. My layout was inspired around my wanting to use the “America” title piece from the Independence Day Word Set. Other chipboard and stamps used were: Lighthouse Set of 4, Star Shaker set, Star and Stripes Banner, Beach Fence Border and Trio Shape Stamps for the stamp twist. Can’t wait to see your take on the sketch!

Happy July! I looked at the inspiration photo and thought layered pieces. Well I didn’t have any stars and hearts just popped in my head. So, here we have it, layered hearts on a Large Tag. I purposely created a dichotomy of design by using pretty romantic paper as the background and then using grunge elements as embellishments. The Bigger Back Chat quote from Dyan Reaveley works well with the Grunge Heart Corner, Grunge Heart Corner Stamp, Hearts Stamp, Heart Doodle Frames, and the Distressed Checker pieces. For all you single gals out there, the quote is right on isn’t it?

Another month at Creative Embellishments and another great challenge. This month it is about the sketch challenge, your interpretation. But the twist is to add stamped imaged on the project. I decided to experiment more with the clear tags Nicole has in the store. I learned a technique from Nikki K while I was over in England (when we could travel). I have been wanting to try it on the product in the store to see how it works. Taking the large clear tag, I started with stamping on the background. I hit the twist straightaway. Using some archival ink and the Grunge Star Corner Stamp, I stamped the centre of the tag. I added more to the background with the Distress Corner Stamp around the edges. Then this is where the fun begins. I did numerous layers here to get the effect I was looking for, a little crackle, some splashes and the background is done. Moving on to the focal point. This was simple I didn’t want to take away from the background. I Used the Star Doodle Frame and added some embossing enamel and framed it the some mirrored Acrylic Gold Stars. Pretty much done other than the Celebrate Title. A pretty simple tag but I really like the over all effect of it.
I have a short video of the creative process:
Hi friends! I absolutely love the sketch this month. I followed the patriotic theme and documented a taste of childhood – a soft serve chocolate and vanilla twist cone with red, white, and blue sprinkles. I added depth to the mixed media background paper using the Small Stars Stencil and the Grunge Stars Stamp. After applying stickers to the page, I added the Falling Stars Chipboard Border that I colored by sponging on white acrylic paint. The finishing touch to the layout is a piece of Watercolor 4th of July Flair to coordinate with the watercolor background.
Hello friends! July is here and it’s one of my favorite times of year! I love celebrating the Red White and Blue and this sketch allows you to get really creative with your projects. I created a wall decoration featuring the Windmill as my background, The large wooden Welcome sign and the Independence Day Word Set. The wooden star and flowers are from my stash. I simply painted the pieces with Acrylic paint and highlighted them with copper wax rub. To finish this piece off I added some flowers.

Hi everyone and welcome to the July Challenge. For this month’s challenge I chose to create a canvas, and was inspired by some of the elements of the sketch. The twist, add stamping. I added stamping to the canvas and Crescent Moon. I love how the moon turned out. I applied some crackle paste and once dried I added several colors of Lindy’s sprays. I used lots of chipboard, Crescent Moon, Grunge Star Corner, Moon Stars, Star Pieces and Oval Ornate Frames 2, all treated with various mixtures of embossing powders. Hope you’ll join us this month!
Well hello July!! Today I’m sharing my layout inspired by the fabulous sketch challenge this month with creative Embellishments. Here are the details.
Creative Embellishments Chipboard Used:
Grunge Stars
Small Silver Solid Star Set
Stars in My Universe Frame
Shine Flair Gold
I started by covering the Stars in My Universe Frame with gold embossing powder. Next I covered the grunge stars with black embossing powder first, then sprinkled gold embossing powder over a second time to add a little sparkle. Then the Shine Flair, and the sparkle stars were just the perfect accent to complete the layout. For all of the details, you can pop on over to my blog HERE.
