I have a few mini albums planned, this is one of them. While we were on lock down with Covid, Adam and I both had strict guideline with our work about travel and leaving the state. We decided to head up north to the north shore. I was fascinated by the mushrooms, so many shapes, colours and sizes. I took so many pictures, I even bought some books about mushrooms. Ok now let’s get the record straight. I don’t like to eat mushrooms, I will cook with them because Adam and Olivia like them  but I cant stand them in buy food. But they are such a beautiful and unique organism.

I had asked for a mushroom mini album and this like shroom works great. I had picked out a number of supplies that I thought would work great with the photos. And I went from there.

After getting the base of the album down. I fussy cut a huge number of elements from the paper collection I picked. And matted my photos.

I spend a good amount of the morning painting the Mini Mushrooms, Mushrooms Wood Veneers and Mushroom Set 1.

After spending the afternoon at the Distillery and the Winery. Maggi and I got back to work. It was just a matter of putting the photos in the album and putting all of the pages together. Adding a few Acorns in the mix to get the woodsie feel to the mini.

Here are a few close-ups.

I used the paints that I had with me to paint the mushrooms. I did some simple blending and distressing to soften the edges.

Just a simple back page to remind me of the memories we made and the new adventures and times we shared during such an uncertain time.

Here is a short video of the creative process, which always is better with a night cap of cream liqueur and Chocolate Eclair Cake.
