Good morning!
I LOVE all of the large chipboard pieces Nicolle has been making for the CE store.
They are awesome for making ‘art’
Music is a big part of our lives, but an even bigger part of our son Cody’s life.  He has been playing guitar for a long time and really loves it.  A little while ago I took some photos of him with one of his guitars….
For this piece of art I used the large Hypnotic Circle set as the background.
I covered all my chipboard with gesso then started the altering process.
For the base I painted it with black acrylic paint so the hypnotic piece would contrast with it.
I used the Flourish Stencil 3 and texture paste to add dimension and visual interest.
I then began layering different tones of teal mists and added black sprays for depth.
For the Large Electric Guitar 2 I used the same process as the hypnotic circle but added some red sprays for more contrast.  I also used Music Note Border 2 to represent the guitar strings, the Steampunk Artist Trading coins and small gears  and I cut apart a butterfly because I liked the wings for visual interest.
I painted the Music Note Frame 1 with red and black for contrast.
The title is also a newer piece at CE – I LOVE IT!  I really wanted it to blend with the images but still stand out so I painted it black and added some grey ink
I used lots of mists and the same grey ink on the Music Note Border and painted the Infinite Rectangle Frame in red then added some grey ink
To finish the layout I took some sand paper to Musical Instrument Flair, then applied some teal mist, and added some beads in varying colors and sizes, some arts stones and some roses I darkened with black paint.
Thanks for stopping by
