Wow! It’s July already? The summer is just flying by. I was inspired by the colors and birthday theme this month. I created a birthday layout of my daughter. I added lots of fussy cutting for the banners, some stitching and of coarse, some wonderful birthday embellies from Creative Embellishments. For my title, I used the Birthday Bash from the Birthday Word Set. I added balloons from the Balloons Set 2 and also added a wood veneer crown from the Birthday Fun set. I used Gelatos to add color to the chippies. I am looking forward to your take on the challenge this month.

Welcome to the July Challenge, everyone! Funny story is that I’ve had a project planned for this Challenge for many months now but … when I sat down to work on it and saw that the “Twist” is a Birthday Party Theme, I had to stop and totally rethink what I would create. After I regrouped, I decided to just do a simple birthday card and save the other project for later this month. So, here’s my simple card, just some paper layering and use of my beloved CE chipboard. The cute little cupcake is from Cupcakes 2 where I inked the bottom and painted the icing, then added a couple of red painted strawberries. To make them more realistic, I added some green Stickles for the stems. My greeting is from the Birthday Word Set and was altered with Distress Walnut Stain. Lastly, I added a ribbon and it is ready for giving. I hope you will enjoy this bright, festive Challenge image! I can’t wait to see your entries!
With July, comes another super fun challenge from Creative Embellishments.
Do you ever find that you sometimes have little bits and pieces of chipboard sets leftover from previous projects? Well I decided to take a couple of left over mini frames and create 2 super cute little birthday cards for this month’s challenge.
Creative Embellishments Chipboard Used:
Simple Doily Frames Small Intricate Frames 2
I had the smallest of the doilies, and just 1 of the intricate frames left from the set. I covered each with Lavender Sparkle embossing powder from Emerald Creek Crafts. The perfect bit of sparkle to compliment the Simple Stories Magical Birthday Collection.

I can’t believe we are already halfway through the year! I can’t think of any better way to spend my time but, playing with my Creative Embellishments chipboard pieces. To celebrate this month we are inspired by a birthday theme. I decided to finally scrapbook my youngest sons’ first birthday celebration. Mind you, he had never before this had any kind of sweets besides fruits. So having a cake all to himself was quite the celebration. This photograph is taken with his NaNa and PaPa. I can’t believe he turned ten this year! I just love how these chipboard pieces really helped embellish this memorable photo. I used the Circle Bokeh Stencil to create some texture in the background. To alter the Balloon Set 2, Gift Shaker, and Happy Birthday Banner I used orange and black acrylic paint paints. After the paints were dried, I grunged them up a bit using some black dye ink. I filled the shaker with flower pears, glass glitter, and some orange microbeads to enhance the colors on the layout. We hope you are inspired to create with us this month and we look forward to seeing your creations!
Hello friends! Welcome to the July Challenge! July is the month full of birthdays in my family, in fact we have 6! The twist on this challenge is perfect as our kids and grandkids are celebrating their special day! I’ve been busy making cards! Their ages are range from 30ish to 6ish. Here’s one I made with the fun Creative Embellishments Unicorn Shaker!
To alter the chipboard I simply painted it with silver metallic paint and added purple and lavender sequins to the center.
I embellished it with flowers and a glitter die cut doily and some coordinating ribbon.
Hey everyone! I am so behind in scrapping our kids birthdays! This months challenge gave the push I needed to scrapbook at least one!
I wanted to have a bright and fun layout celebrating our oldest sons 18th birthday!
I used the celebrate word set and Balloon Set 1

The chipboard was left basically natural and untreated on both shakers – except I did paint the clouds with white acrylic paint to make them stand out. Instead of treating the chipboard, I opted to back the pieces with colored or patterned paper.
Maggi Harding – Scrap, Travel & Bark!
The inspiration for my project came from the colors in the mood board and I made two birthday cards since birthdays was the twist. I can always use these, that’s for sure!
I used Happy Birthday words from the Small Sentiment Words set on the front of the card on the left and heat embossed the letters with aged wine embossing enamel. In the upper left corner I used a photo corner from the Photo or Page Corners Set 2 under the flowers.
The card on the right is a step card and I used the Scribble Frames 1 to frame some fussy cut pieces and inside the card I used Happy Birthday from the Birthday Word Set . HOpe over to my blog to see photos.

Where is the summer going? I can’t believe it already…..July? too fast. I love the birthday theme this month and the colour combinations are so fun and so many ideas to do with them. And you never know when you’ll need that quick gift for that birthday that sneaks up on you. I knew I wanted to make a layered tag so I gathered a couple tags for the tag collections. And using the chalkboard shaker I assembled to showcase a birthday sentiment. On the larger tag, I used some markers for the colour on the balloon set 1 and finished off with the glittery texture paste to add a little shimmer. On the smaller tag I added a small flower cluster. I added a few minor details to the wine bag. Most bags get thrown in the bin so I usually don’t do much, some simple stamping with the Bokeh Circle Stamp and some texture with the Bokeh Stars Stencil with some shimmery paste. A couple bold and colourful ribbons and pinned right to the handle to finish it off. I will keep this in my stash for the next time I need a gift. Looking forward to seeing the entries this month, and if this month is your birthday month Happy Birthday from me to you!
Here is a short video for you. Thanks for watching.
Hello! Nadine here with a birthday layout of my daughter on her 2nd birthday. I first painted some red, yellow & blue color spray onto white cardstock. Then used red embossing powder on the Out Of This World Frame. Then stamped the Grunge Music Note Sheet Stamp around onto the background and then adhered the frame. I also embossed the Balloon Set 1 with Red, Blue, Yellow, and black on the strings using embossing powder. I also used the cake title from the Birthday Word Set and embossed it with red.

We look forward to seeing your creations!
