Happy May 1st everyone! This month, I was inspired by the tree, water and clocks on the moodboard. I added mists to my white cardstock background. Once that was dry, I stamped using the Distressed Crackle Stamp and black ink. I punched some waves and added some machine stitching. I colored the Infinite Circle Frame with Lindy’s mist and backed it with patterned paper from Simple Stories Happy Trails. I used numbers from the Chunky Alphabet Set and sprayed them with the same mist. Thus creating my “clock”. I added my photos on top. I added the It’s Our Time for my title. I also added the Frog and a Pine Tree sprayed with Heidi Swapp, Lindy’s and Fireworks mists. Finally, I added 3 punched and stitched butterflies along with some word phrase stickers. You can see close ups and more details on my blog. I am looking forward to seeing your take on this challenge!

Hello and welcome to the May Challenge here at Creative Embellishments! This month I was inspired by all the cool timepieces in the Challenge image as well as the large, funky tree. While I had planned to add a tree to project, I ended up mainly using one of the Large Tags as well as several of the clock faces: Large Clock Face 3″ and the Large Clock Face 6″. I also stamped my crackled background with 2 of the CE stamps: Circle Bokeh Stamp and the Distressed Crackle Stamp. Because the tree in the challenge image evokes feelings of rootedness, I chose to use a family photo of what we call “The Big Six.” They are my 6 oldest grandkids .. along with a little photo bomber, one of the little granddaughters who snuck her way into most of this family photo shoot. Ha! The “twist” is to add numbers which I’ve done via the clock faces. For lots of close-ups and further details, please visit my blog. We hope you will have an opportunity to play along!

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! We are all so happy to have you here with us today. I hope to inspire you with this month’s theme with Creative Embellishments and encourage you to join us for the challenge. If you can’t tell, I am inspired by the color palette, clocks, and numbers within this inspirational photo. I used the Roman Numeral Stencil with texture paste to create the background. Then I splattered the entire surface with black paint. Next, I took some yellow acrylic paint and dabbed a little bit to all the raised textured areas to add some contrast. I used the Grunge Roman Numerals chipboard pieces to which I embossed them and distressed their edges to give them a distressed appearance. I also added the Steampunk Timepiece with Wings and clock hands which I also embossed and added distressed looking layers to the edges. The finishing touches were some cogs, gears, and an inspirational quote.

Here it is May and who could have ever predicted how this year would unfold! I hope you and yours are well and that you are taking care. I took off on the nature colors in the challenge inspiration photo for my challenge piece. I used lots of nature elements on my layout: Pine Trees, Tall Trees, Pine Cone Clusters, Magical Moments, and Mushrooms. I used a fiber paste on the trees to give them lots of texture like an evergreen. The pine cone clusters are colored with mists. I like to use mists because they don’t fill in the etching lines on the pine cones like paint would do. The title is heat embossed with Embossing powder and that cute little wood veneer mushroom, I left in its natural state. Stop by my blog for closeups and more detail. Hope to see your entry in this fun challenge!
Hi everyone and welcome to our May Challenge! Hard to believe it’s May already. We’ve got a fantastic challenge this month. Don’t you just love all those clocks?! And the twist, add numbers. The image made me think of family roots and time. I made a canvas and used an old photo of my dad and his brother.
I started off by stamping several different images on my canvas. Numbers, squares, writing, butterflies and clocks. I added some color with a couple colors of ink. From there I built up layers using elements from 49 and Markets Collage Stack, Vintage Artistry Natural along with one of their stitched frames. Lots of chipboard was added. I used Square Pieces, Mini Houses, Mini Pocket Watches, Clock Hands and Flourish 10. I used a variety of Blue Fern Studios embossing powders, Ebony, Auburn, Nutmeg and Honey. Final touches includes some wooden pieces, a button and flowers.
I hope you’ll join us this month . Can’t wait to see what you create!
I love the whole feel of the mood board – the clocks, the colors and the twisty tree!
I built layers of chipboard flourish 12, Shape ATC coins, Steampunk trading coin, Grunge gear corner, distressed punchinella, and lots of different gears
I also used clock face and clock stencil.
Lots of CE goodies!
Hello welcome to May, I hope the everyone is surviving the SD. I would love to share my inspiration for the May challenge. The Title of my ATC’s is “Time is the Key” Very fitting during these times. I love the mood board and I incorporated the numbers into the background using the paper, distress numbers stamp and the Typewriter Stencil. It’s been a while since I made any ATC’s and figured it’s about time to make some more. I Used the Steampunk Keys and the Medium Gears to add a little lift to the Keys. I rusted the Keys and gears with some texture paste before adding various layers of paint. This is such a great mood board to ket the creativity flowing!
I made a video of the creative process. I love the look of these and the rust technique is so relaxing to just add layer after layer to get the full effect.
Hi fellow scrappers… I absolutely love this months mood board.. I was inspired by the feel of nature and decided to create a layout using the mason jar and vegetable set, which added fun details to our seed planting photos from last Spring.. I also used the new Flourish stencil and several stamps (distressed script and distressed chicken wire stamps) to create my background onto white cardstock. and what layout isn’t complete without a great title so the Flourish word set was perfect for this layout.. Our grand daughter got to play with dirt and add the vegetable seeds into the dirt with her grampa. For the twist I added the mini pocket watch with the numbers.. This was such a fun project for me and I hope you feel inspired with the mood board and join us this month for our challenge..
Share your projects on our FB fan page for another chance to win.
We look forward to seeing your creations!
Gorgeous Inspirations and love the Moodboard as well🥰🥰

Lucky, Creative Embellishments for having such a creative design team who truly loves your chipboard products. Lisa, sure did capture the moment in time well with the chipboard embellishments
These are wonderful projects! I particularly love Jennifer’s take on the inspiration board – the ‘coffee’ canvas speaks to me personally, and I know what I’ll be adding to my next CE order now 🙂
