Hey there dear scrapbook friends and shelter-in-place survivors!!! I’m Kathy Mosher back with a fun Mixed Media layout featuring my best friend and hubby of 48 years, Kip Mosher. This picture was taken about 4 years ago during our first snow storm after a very warm and sunny day the day before, which is why he looks so red and tan. You can see the high contrast in the background of the snow coming down.
I am absolutely head over heels in love with Ciao Bella’s “Collateral Rust” paper collection. Those colors just speak to me. I haven’t played with my mixed media jars for a while and this paper inspired me to drag it out of the cupboard. I ripped a piece of paper, and smoothed on some of Crafter’s Workshop modeling paste in gold. I applied some joint tape, and added some paint splatters. That all happened before I added the embellishments. Boy did I have fun. The first piece of chipboard I used is the Grunge Gear Corner. I painted it in a dark brown and then used a chalk inker in a teal to get a verdigris effect. I also painted the gears in a Flame color. Love it!!!!!
Here’s another one.
In this one you can also see the Large Steampunk Clock 6″. I painted it a deep copper, splatter it with black painted and then used the same ink chalker around the edges. Here’s another close up. You can see all the copper micro beads that I used as well.
On the bottom left side of the layout underneath the large clock is another Steampunk Clock which is about 4 inches diameter. This one I painted a brilliant flame and coated it with tons of microbeads.
To the far right of the layout I used the Airship Weather Vane . I used so many different colors and coats of paints, waxes and inks on this piece and still didn’t get it to come out the way I wanted it to. I love the piece and will probably use it again.
Thanks for stopping by today. I look forward to our next visit. Don’t forget to check out the Monthly Challenge, it’s a wonderful opportunity to win lots of CE chipboard. Take care everyone and please, please stay healthy and safe!!!
