Here is the first home decor piece transformed from dull to fabulous by adding a cool shaker to highlight the embellishments. I kept things really simple by embossing the CE Snowflake Shaker Set and glueing to the background.
The shaker mix is from Buttons Galore. They have an amazing assortment to pair with any shaker project.

I used the Maja Design, Holiday in the Alps paper collection for the background of this piece. The images and patterns in this paper collection are so peaceful and present a calm winter’s night.
A little more about this piece and how it started. Below is the image of the original home decor seasonal plaque. Everything is on clearance this time of year and who doesn’t love a Christmas clearance section in the store! The great thing about the plaque is that it is very deep and thick to make for a perfect shadow box when turned around to the backside. These are things I think bout when shopping. It may look like Christmas today, but can this be painted and altered for use as a summer project? If possible then in the shopping cart it goes.

Here is the second piece; a simple cone tree created by ripping strips of cotton fabric and wrapping around a cardboard cone. I painted CE- Large Snowflakes with cream colored acrylic paint and tucked them into the fabric along with some floral berries.
Very simple fast project but I love cone trees. The tree topper is an old metal piece I had in my stash.
