Hey there CE friends!! I hope my USA friends enjoyed their 4th of July holiday. In Anchorage, we are breaking temperature heat records, which is great for a change! We are up to the lower 80’s, I don’t need it to get any hotter than that though. My layout today is pretty special for me. I love the Jane Austen era and this picture of my niece Dani resembles it I think as well as a cameo outline.
For the background I used 2 different paper collections from 49th and Market, ripped them on the diagonal, distressed the edges pretty good. I love the Swirly Border CE chipboard piece and decided to use it along the edges. I heat embossed it using a Lindy’s embossing power. I had to cut the chipboard in half to make it fit. You can see I applied a beautiful antique lace piece prior to gluing down the chipboard. I used it as a base for the other embellishments.
I tried to copy the look of a Southern Belle with the Spanish moss in the background hanging from the Vine Corner CE chipboard. I used cheesecloth, and Art Stones to create the effect. I did paint the chipboard with a green matte acrylic paint.
The next step is creating the star of the layout which is putting together the mats, photo and that absolutely STUNNING chipboard picture frame. It’s called Oval Intricate Frame and is a BIG fave of mine. I used the same embossing powder that I applied on the swirly border for continuity. The frame really made Dani look like a cameo etching, so pretty.
I think the crowning touch for the layout is using a quote from Jane Austen which I inserted in one of our CE chipboard’s Mini Frames which comes in a set of several different gorgeous frames. Once again for continuity I used the Lindy’s embossing powder.
It’s been a real please sharing my design with you today, and I hope you will stop back for more fun! Don’t forget our Monthly Challenge where you can win fabulous free chipboard prizes by sharing your wonderful creations. Till next time here is a Big Alaska Bear Hug!!!
