I’m back again my scrappy friends with a layout featuring my niece and her family. They are such a sweet couple! This is a very clean and simple layout, but I really love how it came together.
I used 49th and Market’s “Vintage Remnant” paper collection for the background paper. Perfect colors and designs in it. I did add some ink splatters at the top and right sides of the page that are very pale. I also added a strip of corrugated cardboard that I had ripped from another piece and adhered it to the bottom of the page for interest.
You can never have enough flowers right? This layout screams for burlap, and lots and lots of texture, rough and natural, so that’s what I added. I started by using the new Mini Leaves Set of 3 with some gorgeous burlap and other fabric flowers, toss in some micro beads and some art stones and Voila!!! You have a fun texture filled grouping!
On the left side of the photo I wanted to add the forest element which I did by using the CE chipboard Pine Trees . I added lots of acrylic paint which I painted in swooshing motions to get the look of boughs or limbs for the trees. Then I added the microbeads to give them texture.
I used the cursive word “Family” from the Small Family Border Word Set, which I painted in a copper acrylic paint.
Here are some more close-ups.
Bet you can’t guess where these kids live?? Yep, you guessed it, Seattle, Washington. You can tell by all the gloomy skies and water. I love Seattle. Some of my favorite parts of the world are there.
That’s it for me today. Hope to see you again dear friends, till next time, here’s a Big Alaska Bear Hug!!!!
