Happy May everyone!

I was inspired by the colors, the word “dream” and the gem in the photo. I added watercolor to my background. The “gem” cut file was cut on white cardstock with my Cameo. I added black mist to it and then machine stitched it on my background. I used the same mist to color the Dream a Little…, Gems and the word “Imagine” from the Dream Word Set. I backed the Gems with patterned paper. I added a butterfly flair from the Fly Away Flair set. I used 1 of the Fairies for the twist to add wings and colored it with mist. I can’t wait to see your take on this challenge!

Welcome May, and welcome to another fabulous challenge! I was inspired by this month’s mood board, all of those beautiful jewel tones and the pops of silhouette black. I also love that diamond image, but created with diamonds of a slightly different sort.

Creative Embellishments products that I created with:
Diamonds              Small Moments Border Words

I used the entire set of Diamonds chipboard. First cut the largest diamond in half. Then I covered each piece using my embossing dauber and black embossing powder.
Next I covered the word portion of the small word border using a sparkly silver embossing powder, and the ends using a sparkly black embossing powder.

For ALL of the nitty gritty details on how I created my watercolour background and entire layout, you can pop on over to my blog HERE.

Welcome to the May Challenge!  This month I was inspired by the “gem” in the image photo as well as the color purple. Sadly, my sweet sister-in-law passed away in March and purple was her favorite color.  Susanna had a heart of  gold as well as a passion for her family. It was Susanna that got me started in scrapbooking, so I felt I had to make a special tribute page in her honor. Creative Embellishments products used were:  Heart of GoldDripping Heart Lace BorderLarge Clock Face 4 inchesDistressed Moroccan Stamp and the Falling Heart Stencil. The twist is: time must have wings since it seems to fly … represented by the clock. For more details, just click on my name and the link will take you to my blog.

When is a circle not JUST a circle?  When it becomes a cool shaker card.
Jennifer Snyder here to share to coolest chipboards on the market.  The shaker chippies are my new passion.  In keeping with the theme of the challenge, I created two cards with a dreamy theme and Creative Embellishments -Fairies for the twist.

You can grab the simple Circle Shaker Set  and customize it any way you choose.  I embellished with the chipboard Fairies for the challenge.   The second card features the chipboard Steampunk Timepieces embellished with the fairies painted and embossed with gold.
Please visit my blog to see all the details and fun ideas for shakers.  Remember, it’s all about customization.
Black Gemstone Galaxy Tag Set with White Enamel and Rhinestone Stars and Embossed Butterflies
Hi friends! I absolutely love the inspiration image this month. I was inspired by the gemstones, galaxy backgrounds, and all the black. I don’t often work with a black base, but in this case it was the perfect way to highlight all the sparkly media I applied to the tags. I started by applying black gesso over the Stars 3×4 Wood Veneer Card onto the background of two black tags. Once my tags were covered with stars, I sprayed the tags with Verdigris Glimmer Mist and sprinkled on Ice Resin Iced Enamel powders and let dry. I decided to use the wood veneer card in my design. I smoothed black gesso over the entire card and, once dry, split it in half and used it for the second layer on each tag. Next, I spritzed the Gems Chipboard Set with Black Magic Glimmer Mist. Once the gems were dry I backed them with jewel tone tissue paper. I embossed Wood Veneer Butterflies for each tag to fulfill the wings twist of the challenge. To add even more shimmer to the tags, I applied white enamel and rhinestone stars, and glittery bows. I finished each tag with sticker sentiments and decorative lace, ribbon, and tassels. I hope you’ll find the time to join the challenge this month! Please stop by my blog for more detailed photos of my tags and a full supply list.
Hi everyone and welcome to our May Challenge!  Debbie Burns here with you today sharing an oversized tag I created full of lot of Creative Embellishments chipboard.  I was inspired by the beautiful colors.  I used the following chipboard pieces on my tag, Intricate Circle Frame,  Mandala Lotus,  Flourish Corner 2,  Monarch Buttefly Set,  Flourish 32 and Inspire Word Set.  I hope you’ll have time to join us this month.
Hello friends and welcome to the Creative Embellishments May Challenge.  This challenge was colorful and fun as it made me think out of the box and try something new.  I created 3 cards, one which really doesn’t match the color challenge but thought I’d share it anyway.  I used the Fairies chipboard pieces.  I altered them with black embossing powder to give them a silhouette look.  I created the backgound using Yupo paper and alcohol inks and lots of stamping. So much fun!  If you’d like to see the details of these cards , please stop by my blog for close-ups.
Hope you can play along with our challenge this month!

Hi everyone and Happy May!! I have created a tag for this months challenge and for the twist I used some Moon Fairies. I love the large tag set, they stay sturdy and firm even if you add some mixed media to your project. I hope you all play along and I can not wait to see what you make!!!!!!!!

It’s been a long time since I have done any crafting. I am trying to make it a point to do at least 1 scrappy related project a month. I decided to start with my grandson Arthur (i know i am biased but hes so cute). I printed out 12 pics.. one from the day he was born and one  from every month up until his 1st Birthday. I had fun creating the background on this canvas using TH alcohol inks. I altered the stars Nested Stars and wood stars using white acrylic paint, color shift paints and glitter glue. The constellations were also painted with white acrylic paint, I love you… title piece as well as the  moon shaker I made using our moon chipboard. The clock I altered with copper paint and the cut apart  flying heart wings with silver paint. It felt good to get my hands dirty. I would love to see how you are inspired by this months challenge.

Welcome to another month at Creative Embellishments and I would like to share a tag I made for the May Challenge. I took the challenge not based on the colours that are so beautiful; but more for the words, I am such a dreamer and I love art, I dream I could spend more time with my art……but I best keep dreaming. 😉 But the twist to the challenge is to add wings, I love dragonflies and industrial so why not combine them using the steampunk dragonfly and the perfect paper and alphabet panel. So I made a large tag with some painting techniques with my favourite grungy colours. And a little video of the process. So I hope you enjoy!
