Happy February friends!!! Here in Western NY it has been crazy weather. We had 2 snow storms 2 weeks in a row and negative number temps. Polar vortex was not kind to us. I love snow so it doesn’t bother me too much. I just can’t take the bone chilling temps. January of course flew by…. I hope everyone’s year has started on a positive note.
February is our marriage anniversary…… Feb.12th makes it 26 years married.. we were high school sweethearts. 🙂

Now onto our amazing DT reveal.
I love the colours from the mood board this month. I had the pleasure of having a good friend. Andy Skinner come to visit this last summer. He had a fun time sitting by the pond, enjoying the beautiful weather and company. And these two crazies are like Peas in a Pod so you can imagine the fun that was had.
On to the page, I get so wrapped up in the background of things, sometimes I end up covering it all up. But this page did start out like normal, lots of stamping and texture with distress checkered stamp, circle stamp and brick stencil. After most of the background I end up suing some embossing on the Travel Corner, seeing it was a bit of a trip for all of us this fall. I filled in some of the layers with some washi tape that was heat embossed. But like usual, I made a video fo the creative process for you all.
As soon as I saw the mood board this month, I knew I had to use this Snapchat photo my daughter sent me. I choose to use several hearts on my layout rather than one. I used 2 of the Distressed Hearts on the right side of the photo and 1 of the Heart Doodle Frames on the left. I backed all 3 of these with patterned papers. I added a bit of Gesso smudges to the Dripping Heart Lace Border and cut a few pieces to add to my page. For my title “15th” I used the Grades or Awards chipboard and used the “5th” piece and cut the “1” off the “1st” piece. I put them together to make the “15th”. I added a few wood veneer Hearts, a wood veneer Geek Chic Glasses and 2 February 14th Flair. For the lace, I added some around my photo and used the Dripping Heart Lace Border:
Hi friends! I absolutely love the color palette in the challenge this month! I created a shaker card that I plan to give my husband on Valentine’s Day. I started with a card blank from the Heidi Swapp Snow Globe Card Kit and then added patterned paper, stickers, lace, and of course, chipboard, to create this card. I stacked an Artist Trading Coin and a Heart Shape Artist Trading Coin to create a circular background embellishment for my shaker feature. I heat embossed the Artist Trading Coin with Copper Glitz ICE Resin Iced Enamels, and the Heart Shape Artist Trading Coin with Raspberry ICE Resin Iced Enamels. Then I glued the two coins together and secured it in to the shaker element off-center to create more interest. I applied a sticker to the trading coin, and then filled the shaker feature with colorful paper confetti. I heat embossed several Nested Heart Shapes with Copper Glitz ICE Resin Iced Enamels and glued them to the front of the card. To finish the front of the card, I added a wood veneer word.
Happy February, all! It’s the month of Love! Sandi here! I took a somewhat paler take on this month’s Challenge which is a Color Challenge …. but I had fun creating a couple of Valentine Cards. I’ve added lace per the “twist” and a couple of Creative Embellishments chipboard pieces: Heartbeat Border and a couple of words from the Valentines Word Set. These were simply altered with walnut ink. Can’t wait to see your take on the challenge.
Hello all! Debbie here with you today sharing my interpretation of the February Challenge. This is my favorite month, it’s all about LOVE! I used several Creative Embellishments Chipboard pieces including: Heart Doodle Frames, Follow Your Heart Title and Heart Pieces.
To alter the chipboard I used some Metallique acrylic paint and the rubbed it with Rose wax for highlights.
Be sure to play along with our monthly challenge, it’s not only fun but there’s a great prize to a lucky winner!
Debbie here with my take on the February Challenge. I was inspired by the shades of pink and lace. I created this layout using an old photo that was my grandmothers. Not sure who the happy couple is in the photo, but loved that they were celebrating their special day. I statred off by applying some texture paste to the background paper using a lace stencil. Lots of paper layering underneath the photo. I centered the photo in the Flourish Heart Frame 1. I used the larger of the two frames and embossed it with a mixture of Stampendous Shabby Pink and Shabby Rose embossing powders. To the right of the photo and the bottom left I used the larger piece, which I cut in half of the Flourish Set 17, embossed with the same colors as the Flourish Heart Frame 1. The title is from the Always Word Set . I applied some white gold wax to the chipboard and then embossed it with Stampendous Shabby Pink embossing powder. As for the twist, add lace, I added bits and pieces of lace.
Welcome back Creative Embellishment friends! Tracy here, and I am stoked that it is February…my favourite month of the year. Not only is a month known for LOVE, but it’s MY birthday month. Spoiler alert…this year’s birthday is a big-ish one.
My LOVE inspired layout features a photo of our daughter and her sweet love.
I used a few Creative Embellishment Chipboard pieces:
Flourish Heart Frame 1, Flourish Set 17, Heart Dangle 2, Joy Word Border Set
I altered all of the chipboard pieces, first by painting them with DecoArt red paint, then using a clarity stencil brush, brushed DecoArt white paint across the chipboard and painting the ends of the chipboard word. I then took an embossing pad and soft bristled brush to add sections of gold embossing powder to each piece. For more details on my layout you can pop by my blog HERE.
Hi everyone and happy February…yippee around here that mean almost Spring!! For my inspiration I created a tag for the challenge. I used behind the center cluster a piece of the Arrow Frame with Hearts and pieces from the Heart Strings Border chippy. I also used a bigger chippy heart behind the paper ones. To finish it off I added pieces of Doily 2 on the sides. Have fun playing along and I cant wait to see what you make!!!!!!!!
Jennifer Snyder here to add my spin on the February challenge – with tons of lace. That also happens to be the “twist ” this month. I backed the Flourish Heart Set chipboard with a piece of lace and added a Feb 14th Flair as an accent. My second card uses a banner from the wonderful Family Banners chipboard set. I left the chipboard in it’s natural state with no finishes. I love the neutral look to my cards.
