Have an amazing NEW YEAR!!
Wow, Okay where did the year go???? Really… I feel like I just blinked and it’s all over. I guess what they say is true…time goes by faster as we age. Who ever they are…;)
I hope everyone has an awesome ending to 2016 and the new year brings health, love and happiness.
It’s a new month and well you know what time it is……..The challenge is to be inspired by 1 element from the photo. For the twist please add something that dangles on to your project/page.
Challenge Rules:
Now onto our amazing design teams examples.
This Christmas card is colour inspired with all the silver and sparkle…. and the dew drops make up the twist element to have some dangles. On the Merry Christmas sentiment I first white inked it and let it dry. Then I added silver Nuvo glimmer paste for glitter. I used lots of black white glitter streaked papers with silver layer and tied a white ribbon accent. Merry Christmas to all.
I was inspired by all the silver and the ‘glittery’ nature of the inspiration photo and created this Wintry Mixed-Media Tag. I used one of the Creative Embellishments Chipboard Lamp Posts and a few snowflakes from the Large Snowflake Set to decorate the tag. I glued the chipboard pieces in place and then painted everything with a coat of white gesso. Next, I added another coat of white gesso but mixed in some Prima Mini Art Stones with the gesso to get a ‘snowy’ look to the tag. I misted everything with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists in Marshmallow and Denim Blue. Once I was happy with the misting, I added some colour using Prima Art Alchemy Acrylic Paints. I finished off the chipboard snowflakes with some Prima Glass Glitter in Sterling and some Fairy Dust glitter. For the challenge’s twist, I added a silver snowflake charm dangling from the tag’s ribbon.
Hi everyone! It is that time of year for making Holiday Cards, Tags and pretty things to adorn your packages with!! I had super fun with this months Inspiration Photo. I did a very large tag to add to a gift. I used the fun Grunge Snowflake Stamp in the background. The Chippy Snowflake Frame and Snowflakes are finished with a coat of embossing powder with bits of gold in it! I also tucked in a couple of Distressed Snowflake Flairs in the cluster. I hope you join along with this months challenge and can not wait to see what you all create.
Hi everyone.. I have a 12 yr old that loves to sleep under the X-mas tree and wait for Santa 🙂 I decided to get his photos scrapped and it was perfect timing with this months challenge. I used some of my favorite G45 papers and added lots of xmas themed chippies. I used the Berry Wreath and decided to cut into two, so I could frame both photos.. Then added the hanging ornaments (Christmas Bulbs), which I gesso’s, painted with Faber-Castell Bir Brush markers and finally heat embossed them using UTEE, which gives that glazed look 🙂 Finally adding lots of Poinsettias and adding final touches with some stamps..
I wanted to leave all the space to this funny picture of my son, so I went with a pretty simple and clean layout. I used Snowflakes and Snowflake ornament chippies as dangles all over my layout. I covered them with gold embossing powder and than with sparkling white powder giving an impression of fresh snow over them. I used the same white powder for my Merry Christmas title.
I wish you a happy scrappy time!
Hi Maggi here, and first I want to wish you a very happy holiday season, whatever you faith may be. This is such a wonderful, but stressful time of the year. Be sure to take some time for yourself! I’ve created steampunk ornaments for the challenge this month and for the the twist, well the ornaments dangle from the tree! I painted our Steampunk Ornaments with gold and silver paint. Then I added gold and silver stickles to some of the cogs. While that was drying I colored our Holly and Berry Flourish with Lindy’s Gator Gumbo Olive and Ponderosa Pine Olive. Next I tied pretty bows for my ornaments. To assemble, I simply glued the bows onto the ornaments then topped the bows with a pretty Petaloo bloom. To finish up, I tucked in the Holly and Berry Flourish ( I cut them into smaller pieces) and highlighted the berries with red Stickles. I think they are so pretty, they”’ look great on my tree or as a present topper.
Hi everyone, so if I say we are the December 1st !! It’s crazy !!
For this challenge, I was inspired by the star on the inspiration picture. I used Star Doodle Frames where I’ve applied a coat of gld embossing powder. I stuck a Jumping Deer that I embossed also. For my title, I chose Joy Word Border Set. For my background work, I stamped with Grunge Stars Stamp in tone on tone and I applied of the gold interferance gel with Fairy Dust 2 stencil. I like the effect.
I look forward to your interpretation ! Have fun 🙂
For December, I had to use a Christmas photo. This was taken last year with my nieces right before we left for a girls day. We went for lunch and then to see The Nutcracker.
I used a couple of different chippie pieces on this layout. I just love the flourishes and could use them on all my layouts. For this layout I chose flourish set 15. I heat embossed them with a light pink embossing powder, then used some ice stickles for sparkle. They are really shimmery in real life.
For my piece that dangles, I used the heart dangle 3. It got the same treatment as the flourishes. Once it was dry I added a few small pink pearls to it. I love the way the chipboard turned out.
One lucky winner will be randomly chosen to win a $50 gift voucher to our store!
