Hi everyone! What a fabulous inspiration photo to play with this month. For me I was inspired by the Gears and added a Mini Pocket Watch in the background for the twist. The title chippys if from the Dream Word Set and I tucked in a few chippy hearts. The photo is my grand mother and my dad….love heritage photos! I hope you all play along with us this month!

Wow it’s September…already!  This month’s challenge photo can take you in so many directions.  I picked up on the Steampunk vibe and that filmstrip running through the photo but used vintage styling.  For the twist, I used two clocks,  Steampunk Timepieces and Steampunk Timepiece with Wings   The title is from the Heritage Word Set.  I used aged gold embossing enamel on all the chippies.  I hope you’ll join in our challenge, I want to see what you do with the inspiration photo!

HI fellow crafters.. I loved our inspirational photo for this months challenge and decided to create a canvas.. It’s for my mom who is battling lung cancer and we are all cherishing every minute we have together..  I used lots of chippies on my canvas starting with the big 5″ clock face in the middle and then adding some mid size gears and mini gears, along with the clock hands.. I also added some keys, chain border, which I cut up into pieces and then some circle background pieces to the corners.. Finally I added the title using the Moments word set and decorated everything with some flowers from my stash and  some sprinkle dots to the centers of the gears.

What a great challenge for September! My birthday is in September and my favorite color is purple, so the picture was perfect – the colors, the theme of time passing, the theme of time for reflection and thought – all of it was just right for doing a birthday layout. I used various supplies to grunge up all the chipboard – acrylic paint, gold acrylic paint, and Finnabair’s/Prima’s rust effects paste set. I used a clock and clock hands from Steampunk Timepieces, an Industrial Hanging Lightbulb, and a Heart Dangle. I also used Gears of various sizes. The clock that I fussy cut is hanging from a chain I cut off from one of the Bird Cages, and the steampunk clock got its chipboard wing from a Fairy.

A friend of mine is celebrating her birthday soon.  She had asked for a box to keep her wedding ring in as she takes it off at home before going to the gym.  After looking for the ring several times, she thought it would be best to have a safe place to keep it.  I thought the woman in the wedding dress from the G45 collection along with the 3″ clock from this month’s challenge represented timeless love.  She is more girly so I try to bring in elements that represent her style with the flowers and pearls.  I inked the clock in brown ink then brushed with white.  I used the word love from the happy word set and inked it in white ink and brushed over with brown.

I was inspired by many elements:

Colours: black/orange/yellow/white

The clock

And the side : “galactic/milky way”!!!

I used many chipboards: large clock face 3″, stars, and Valentine’s hashtags!!!

September Challenge main

I created an inspirational canvas.

I went with several different elements from the photo. I used the swirls and blue/teal color as my primary inspiration. Then I added a clock and clock hands for the twist.

I used flourish-set-17 and left it raw. It did pick up a bit of color from the mist and silver micro beads I used. I also used a piece from steampunk-timepieces and heat embossed it with a teal/silver embossing powder. I love the two-tone finish on it.

There was so much to be inspired by in the inspiration picture this month – it got me thinking about school and how fast time flies, so I decided to scrap a picture of my son who is “growing up too fast”! I can’t believe he starts Grade 1 next week! I used Creative Embellishments chipboard Clock Faces to embellish the layout, which I embossed with Stampendous Aged Black Embossing Enamel.  For the title, I used the word “smile” (from the Happy Words Set) and painted it using Prima Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint in Gold Rush.

Hello lovelies!

From the inspiration, I used blue as main color and the character as my subjet. Since we also had to integrate time-related elements, I used a picture of my oldest son. It seems that it was only yesterday that he was just a tiny baby, but it ‘s almost 9 years now! I added a clock, clock hands and Timeless title from Treasure Border Words to complete my layout. I applied my usual mix of embossing powder (bronze and coffee this time) and I added a few touches of Gelatos and white gesso on top of them.

I was inspired by many elements in the inspiration picture this month. Time is flying …. I used roman numerals, clock clusters , gears and cogs and clock hands. They were all altered using Tim Holtz black soot distress paint, old gold 13@rts Ayeeda paint and gold rust by prima. The background was so fun to created. I used many different mists and paints. For an added touch I added circuit and space elements with our new galaxy stencils.

In celebration of our 3rd Birthday we are giving away 2 gift vouchers.

2 lucky people have a chance to win. Can’t wait to see what ya’ll create.
