Hi friends, I am loving this month’s challenge photo, nothing like red, white and blue to bring out the patriot in me.  I decided to create that time honored tradition of 4th of July fireworks on my page.  I adore the 4th of July Set 2 chipboard, especially the fireworks burst of stars piece.  There are 3 pieces in the set and I’ve used 2 of them.  Bonus, the twist this month is to add stars and that burst sure covers that!  Uncle Sam’s hat that I tucked into the flowers is also part of the 4th of July set.  The stars and stripes on the hat are open so I backed those with scraps of cardstock.  I used some pieces of Distressed Chicken Wire  to tuck in with my flowers to make it look like they are growing on it.  Hope to see your entry this month!

HI fellow scrappers…
It’s Nanné here to share a layout I created for this months photo challenge.  I started off by creating my background, paint splatters and stamps oh my.. next, layering some 4th of July themed papers, adding my photos and then tucking some of the Chicken wire paneling I cut up , adding glossy accents to the centers and adding some micro beads.  The star frames I used were great fun to work with.. Adding some texture paste then some color by spraying them with different tones of Reds and blues, final detail adding some white paint.
Hope you play along with our challenge this month.

Shona KeehnHi everyone! I was inspired by the stars on the inspiration photo and this is the Fathers Day card I made for my Father in law. I have gone with more of a beach theme on this one! I used the Distressed Text Stamp in the background and added in a piece from the Nautical Star set and some Seagrass chippys. I hope you all play along with us this month!

I was inspired by the colors and the All American feel. The photo is of my Dad at a July 4th BBQ. I thought this photo was the perfect fit. His hat says All American Dad and he has always been my Hero. I used the falling-stars-border and cut it into a couple of pieces. I used aged gold embossing powder on them.  For my title I used amazing title. It just got a simple coat of acrylic paint. I love the simplicity of the layout, it really keeps the focus on the picture. I can’t wait to see what you come up with this month.

This is my very first project as part of CE DT. I’m really happy to be joining this great team!!! The colors from the challenge picture inspired my a nautical layout, featuring my oldest son a few years back at the beach.

I’ve covered the Stars in Universe frame with white embossing powder and then with a few sparkles of gold powder. The Nautical Star and Anchor received the same treatment. As for the Treasure Border word, I’ve painted it using my mists.

This was such a  fun challenge for my very first post! Shabby and bright is my favorite combination because I just love color, layering, and dimension, and this challenge was perfect for that. These are my kids on July 4th last year and I used BoBunny paper and a ton of amazing CE goodies. I started with the Out of This World stencil at the top to put the constellations in the sky – I used modeling paste to make it more dimensional, and then added white glaze on top of that for some accenting. I gotta say – this goes on the list as one of my favorite stencils. I also used a ton of the cute wood veneer stars, which I painted with white acrylic paint and some of them with white glaze. The bird was also painted with white acrylic paint, and I added a little heart gem in the center to accent it. The cherries I painted and then topped with crackle accents to create the glossy crackle, and then added tiny wood veneer stars for accents. One of my all time favorite CE embellishments are the round frames – so I just loved using this gorgeous star frame called Stars In My Universe – I painted it with gesso, then added blue and red pearl powders, and then topped with more of the wood veneer stars. And viola, a fun and bright July 4th LO!

Happy July everyone.  It is great to be back at Creative Embellishments. I made a banner for a table decoration for our festivities scheduled on the fourth.  I used bold red, white, and blue colors. I love those little wooden stars and they were so fun to color.  I used a navy blue Sharpie for the blue stars, a red Viva Décor Pearl pen for the red, and Picket Fence Distress Ink for the white. Have a happy and safe Fourth of July and I hope you were inspired to make a decoration for your party.

Adorable

Hi everyone, it’s the holiday ! I was inspired by the stars on the inspiration photo and the balloons. I put of the gesso on all the chippies (Balloon Set 1, Feather and Beads Frame, Arrow Frame and Family Word Border Set) and I worked chippies with acrylic paint and my fingers. I’ll start with the clearest color and I’ll end by the darkest color. I used the leaf of Berry Clusters that I embossed and I embossed also the frame of Feather and Beads Frame. To add contrast, I used Grunge Stars stamp and Number border stamp with jet black Archival ink. I look forward to your interpretation !!

Hello CE friends!! I was inspired in the challenge picture in many ways. The colors, balloons and stars.. My daughter recently graduated 8th grade. Her school calls it moving up. The picture has a celebratory feel to it so I went with that picture.  I stamped our grunge star stamp image to the background simply using white gesso. I heat embossed the stars in my universe frame with a white gold embossing powder by lindys stamp gang. The fancy oval frame was altered with a heavy gesso paste and I added a little gold stickles to it. The balloons set 2 were altered using a red embossing powder. I cut the chip strings off and added my own with TH string. I altered the brick panel using black soot distress stain and white gesso.  Lastly I altered the wood veneer stars with white gesso. I can’t wait to see how you are inspired by our challenge this month. Link up your project below for a chance to win a $50.00 gift voucher to our store.
