Toni Burks

Hi everyone… Toni here  and I am so excited to share with you my very first design team project for Creative Embellishments. I just love working with Creative Embellishment chipboard pieces because they are beautifully intricate and the products that you can use on them is limitless. For my project I gathered inspiration from this months photo from the vibrant purple & green with a pop of black and white. I also utilized the textures of the cement wall and splatters of paint to drive my inspiration.  For my title I chose Dream Word Set   &  Happy Word Set which I painted with my Dylusion paints Crushed Grape.  On the background I used modeling paste through a brick wall stencil for yummy texture. My Ivy Spray chipboard pieces were sprayed with Lindys Stamp Gang mists and then I distressed the edges with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. After completed I gave the entire page a dry brush of gesso to soften the entire page. Hope this inspired you to create with us this month.

G45 ABC PRimer Back to School

Maggi here, and I am thrilled to be serving another term with Creative Embellishments!  I took my inspiration from the alphabet in the photo and decided upon a back to school theme.  I thought Graphic 45’s ABC Primer papers would be perfect with these chippies from the CE school collection of chipboard.  I painted (the twist) all the chipboard with Claudine Hellmuth acrylic paints and then used our Distressed Text stamp and black Stazon ink to stamp over the frame and title, just to tone down the bright yellow.  I used our Alphabet frame which comes with the cute little crayons that are beside the photo on the right.  The Back to School title comes in a set of two different sizes and I used the  larger of the two.  To finish off my layout I used two metal flowers that I heat embossed with gold and blue embossing powder.

I can’t wait to see what all of you create from this month’s inspirational photo!

Sept Challenge Karan Gerber

Hello everyone, so happy to be here with my first project to share with you.  What inspired me most from the Inspiration image was the ABC.  It made me think of school days and I created a school photo frame from a burlap photo frame.  I painted the large chipboard clock face black, dabbed some embossing ink and sprinkled with embossing gold and heat set.  I did the same to the Adventure word set.  I kept the wood veneer leaves plain and used them to tuck in under the flowers for added dimension and detail. I am looking forward to see what you come up with for this, my first challenge.

Hi everyone! This months inspiration photo was perfect to use on my Journal cover from the Flying Unicorn Sept kit! I love steam punk and had fun with the cover! I tucked lots of Gear chippys in with the focal Large Clock chippy piece. They are all finished with black gesso.  I hope you all play along with this months challenge!

Hi scrap friends, I love the inspiration picture and I was to make photos specially for the challenge. For my background, I applied a fine coat of gesso with a credit card and I applied a various acrylic coats of paint above the gesso always with a credit card. To harmonize, I used a stencil with the modeling paste. I colorized the chipboard alphabet border with Neocolors II that I rubbed with the finger. I embossed the mini gears with a embossing powder and I heated some glue glossy above. I used a lot of stamps on my layout, Grunge Stars Stamp, Distressed text stamp and Distressed Corner Stam

Hi gang! Here’s my take on this challenge. I started my inspiration with the graffiti. I asked my friend for a picture that would fit with my ideas. I found that perfect paper in my stash, lucky me! I put some black chalk paint on my background to determine my work zone and I embossed in white with the distress crackle stamp at random places. On the Barbed wire border I applied a coat of gray acrylic paint first and then I sprayed with a silver Mister Huey from Studio Calico. It gives a king of gunmetal look to my piece. On the 3/4″ gears I simply sprayed the same silver color. For my title, the chippie Wild one was to much perfect! I embossed it in white too to contrast a bit with my background. That’s it! Hope you’ll join us in this fun challenge!

Hi all! This months challenge photo is a perfect way to wind down the summer and get ready for back to school! I started with a hanging chalkboard that I had in my stash. Using a script stencil and modeling paste to create a raised background, giving it a graffiti look. Next I used some small wooden rulers to outline the border, that I stamped with the Distressed Brick Stamp. I adhered white medical gauze and black netting to the center of the chalkboard. Then added my Alphabet chipboard pieces and title from the Dream Word Set, that I coated with white gesso and colored with ink sprays. I also added some paper flowers from WOC, wooden bingo numbers, a Prima resin clock along with the Clock Hands. For the twist I used black and white paint to splatter the background.

I love this month’s inspo image and was inspired by the brick, colors and splatters. For my background, I used a TCW stencil and Shimmerz Texturez to create the gritty brick pattern. I chose a light blue shade called Patina to go along with the light gray/blue from the inspo image. Next I used paint to create the splatters and time pieces on the black ground. I altered the 3″ clock face and the Steampunk Pocket Watch with black gesso and used Jacquard Lumiere paints on the Steampunk Gear Corner, 3″ globe and Inspire Word Set. I then splattered and dabbed more black and white acrylic paint. All four flair buttons are from the Art Flair Set. I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with inspired by this month’s fabulous inspo image! 😀

Hello friends!! I was inspired by many elements of the picture above such as the brick, letters, numbers, paint, bold colors etc. I altered a printers tray with my oldest sons school portraits. I even altered the back of the tray. I will be displaying this with a plate holder instead of hanging it.

I used a ton of CE products on this project. Instead of listing each one and how it was altered , I am going to let you know some of the products I  used and how to find them in the store. Some of my go to products to alter with are TH distress paints and stains, lumiere paints, acrylic paint, faber castell big pitt pens, prima brick stencil etc.

Do you know that we have a search bar at the top left of our store? You can type in key words and if we have in item with the word you used products will drop down. I have a school category set up in the store so be sure to click and you will find them in there as well. Be sure to check the wood veneer tab and flair tab as well.  You will notice quite a few products in there as well.
