Hi everyone! This months inspiration photo is very girly to me so I used the colors and created this layout with the Flying Unicorn May kit and my FAV Creative Embellishments products. I have tucked in pieces of the Moroccan Lattice Panel here and there and added the distressed text stamp in the background. The title chippy is from the Happy Word Set!  I hope you all play along with this month challenge!

Hello my scrappy friends!  I am thrilled to share my first Creative Embellishments project with you!  This month’s challenge photo made me think of soft pink, pretty laces and beads. I used Fabscraps  Elegant Chic papers from the Swirlydoos Kit Club March kit to create this Happy Birthday tag.  I’ve coated the Happy Birthday tag with Crackle Accents to meet the twist and used Mixed Media Inx in Jasmine to highlight the cracked surface.    I’ve embellished my tag with  the awesome Cornflowers  from the Creative Embellishments store.  I colored the Cornflowers with 2 different embossing powders and microbeads.  I have a Snapguide tutorial you can view if you want to see how I did the Cornflowers and made the tag.

I was inspired by arabesques above the fireplace and above the armchair. I added the Flourish 8 on my layout and I applied of Crackle Accents above to meet the twist. I used a Flair from Seasons Change, hexagonal forms from Hot Hexagons which I colorized with my Neocolors II and a key  which I embossed with white embossing power ZING. I hope you will join in on the fun with this month’s challenge!

I was so inspired by the picture challenge! As you can see I chose the pink, white and grey combo and the flowers. I’ve used a mini frame painted with a coat of crackle accent and pink Magicals from Lindy’s stamp gang over the white embossed viney flourish frame. I’ve cut a little viney from my frame to put on the left. You can see my crackle effect on the background near the smile word. I’ve painted the bird cage with white gesso and a kind of purple grey Magicals too. My happy words had the same treatment with a tin coat of white gesso and pink ink.

Hi there everyone! I am so happy to be sharing my first layout with Creative Embellishments!!! Well, as you can see – I am a purist so I really interpreted the photo literally…it also helps that I LOVE everything shabby chic and the color pink! So I decided to use a “vintage” photo of my mother and I surrounded her with a lovely rose garden. I used the gorgeous CE Flourish 15 (upper left) and Flourish 19 (lower right.) Also I used the butterfly from the Flourish Butterfly Set 2. With each piece of chipboard piece, I put two coats of gesso. Then I used paint and inked the edges. To finish them,  I gave them a Crackle Accents finish. Lastly, I used the CE Photo Booth Film Strip and backed it with paper and filled it in with Crackle Accents. I hope you play along and I can’t wait to see what you create!!!

I was inspired by the soft pink of the inspiration photo. For my layout I used some the Flourish Set 10 as well as a piece of the Bubble Panel.

I also used  my title from the Girl Word Set  and added the butterfly from the Butterflies – set of three collection. I used crackle paint on both my butterfly and my flourish.

Hi all! Here is my project for the challenge this month! Love the shabby inspo pic! I used the Birdcage Style 1 chippy coated with gesso gave it a pale misting then stamped with CE Distressed Crackle stamp for the twist this month. My BG also has the yummy Grunge Music Note Sheet stamp. The card was made also using Flying Unicorn’s Small Art Big Passion KOM for May. These sheets just screamed shabby chic to go with the inspo pic! LOVE! Have fun and hope to see ya’ll playing along!!

I was inspired by the shabby feel of the picture and by all the swirly metal elements as well. I used rock candy crackle on the chippies on my canvas for the twist.

I prepped my canvas with a thin layer of heavy gesso. I then stamped our Distressed Moroccan stamp image onto the backgorund. Unfortunately its hard to see that image. I the added drywall mesh to the background. I also stamped the Distressed Chicken Wire image using TH seedless preserves stain and our Distressed Grid Stamp image with Lindys Tibetan turquoise dabber.

I cut apart our Moroccan panel to create corner pieces. I altered them first applying gesso and then both seedless preserves stain and Tibetan turquoise mist.I started out very much the same for each chipboard piece by first applying a coat of gesso to each. I then used lindys stamp gang dabber in Tibetan turquoise on flourish set 19 pieces and the smaller of the fancy rectangular frames.  Once the crackle was dry I added more Tibetan turquoise to the pieces to enhance the crackle effect. The larger rectangular frame was altered the same but using a Tim Holtz distress stain in the color seedless preserves. To get a more shabby feel I then went over the canvas with white gesso here and there. I also altered a bird using simply white gesso and swiped a little turquoise dabber across.Shabby chic is one of the styles I would like to get better at.

This is my May Challenge Project Entry. I created a 9 x 12 Linen Canvas, entitled “Create”. The shabby yet distressed picture frames throughout the photo is where my inspiration came from. I used the 6×6 brick panel along with the script font word, Create from the inspire word set. I wanted the chipboard pieces to be very distressed and worn looking. I first used distress paint in antique white, walnut stain ink, sweet pea Lindy’s spray and crackle medium.

For my take this month, I made a mother’s day gift set for my mom.  I took from the challenge photo the flowers.  I thought the roses in the paper were beautiful. I used the Botanical Tea Collection from Graphic 45 and cut it using a Silhouette cut file.  The twist this month was to use some form of crackle.  I used a little platinum crackle on the Flourish Corner and then used a Verdigris ink pad to stamp with the Distress Crackle Stamp on it.  How cute would this look in baby papers with the baby themed wood veneers from the shop?  I think it would make an awesome shower present.

Link up your project below for a chance to win a $50.00 gift voucher to our store.
