Hi guys, I’m back with another project for the Creative Embellishments Design Team!
Today, I am sharing my altered Journal Cover. First, I stuck down two different washi tape designs randomly across the cover to create a background. I lightly whitewashed over the tape with gesso. Using my black permanent ink I stamped a crackle and honeycomb image to the background aswell. To add dimension I layered pieces of ripped up fabric, cheesecloth and black mesh netting to the center, leaving all the loose stringy fibers exposed.
Next, I arranged my flower cluster, using canvas and paper blooms, paper leaves and a gorgeous vine, that I cut apart and placed throughout. Then I sprinkled and spritzed my glimmer mists sprays in coordinating purples and lavenders. I cut a few pieces of the Moroccan Lattice Panel, gave it a coat of gesso, sprayed with my glimmer mists and stamped with a crackle image.I tucked those bits into the corners.
For my title I used the word “Faith” from the Adventure Word Set. First painting it with gesso then gently rubbing it with silver inka gold, I just love the distressed crackle look it gives after you heat set it. I also added a small resin corner to my flower cluster and a beautiful flying fairy. Lastly I adhered three small purple bubble gems to add a little more whimsy.
I hope you like this journal cover as much as I do! Thanks for stopping by!! Dont forget to participate in the Monthly Challenges found here on the Creative Embellishments Blog!
