Hello All! Wendy here to share up my layout, “Over the Mountains”. I was completely inspired by the chipboard Triangles and wood veneer Trendy Triangles to kick start my layout. The triangles led to the transition of a clean and graphic feel to my layout in combination with the green and white triangle paper.
My favorite twist on this layout is emphasizing more of the triangles by using a chevron stamp and embossing powder in Leaf color from American Crafts to mimic the triangle chipboard shapes. I heat embossed this accent on my layout. I cut the finished chevron design to a triangle shape to add to my layout. I used this technique a couple of times throughout my layout.
I chose to crop and cut a a larger photo of the Austrian mountains in a triangle shape as the focal point of my layout. I layered a triangle chipboard shape over the triangle photo for more depth to the photo. I also added several wood veneer triangles from Trendy Triangles to mimic the shape of mountains. LOVE those shapes!
I stamped part of the title and used the awesome silver letter stickers as the rest of my title. I also used a triangle shape puffy sticker as another play on the triangle effect to my layout. The wording was rather perfect on the sticker because the Austrian mountains are truly breathtaking!
I sketched out my layout prior to putting it all together because I wanted the triangles to flow without being ‘overdone’ in too many busy triangle shapes. So, I paid attention to the right balance of green and white color scheme of the triangles cut from the paper. I wanted the chipboard triangles to bring more texture to my layout. I could have painted them but I really liked the raw/natural chipboard effect.
Hope you enjoyed my layout!
