Happy Friday friends! Nicolle here today sharing a layout with my daughter and her new guitar. She picks up instruments pretty fast. Jojo played the Trombone in school a couple years ago. I am so proud of her. I know her grandfather would be too. He enjoyed playing the guitar as well. We surprised her with another one for Christmas and a learning guide. She inherited a blue electric guitar which we bought an amp for as well.
I used a bunch of steampunk products on this layout. On Monday’s post I added the guitar to a guy layout. This time I wanted to show how they can be used on a girly layout. When I create I don’t really follow any “rules”. I just have fun with the creative process.. Well that’s my motto. 🙂
You can’t really see Jolie’s boots but I was inspired by them and they set the theme for the page. The boots she is wearing are black with silver glitter and clear gems. I altered the frame, music note border and guitar applying black ink as the base. I then added some silver stickles and clear gems to just the frame. I altered some of the gears with pewter distress stain and layered them on the guitar. I also attached a few in clusters through out the page. The two wood gears I altered blue for a pop of color that match the pants she’s wearing. I left the wood music notes natural. Oh I can’t forget one of our new items in the store. ..the steampunk light bulb. I applied pewter distress paint to the gears and bottone and on the outer edge of the light bulb part yellow acrylic paint.
I used the current sketch at Sketchabilities for inspiration.
Jojo looks a bit annoyed with me taking her picture.
Below are the products I used. Just click the picture for a direct link to the store.
Phew! Thanks for stopping by! Have an amazing creative weekend.
