Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a vintage style mixed media panel that I created using chipboards combined with stash from my junk journal bins! Yes! Use what you have along with some gorgeous chippies from Creative Embellishments. In this post I will tell you what I used and how it became this pretty home decor piece!
Creative Embellishments Chipboards Used:
In my stash closet I always have a couple of bins filled with items I use for junk journaling. This includes sentiments, leftover fussy cuts, lace and fabric bits, paper scraps etc. So for this project I went for a treasure dig. I started with the Tim Holtz portrait piece and picked items that complimented it.
I cut a piece of foam board to 6″X6″ and adhered decorative paper to it. Next I altered the chipboard panel with black gesso and some german silver wax. The panel was then adhered to the base.
Next I added a torn strip of striped decorative paper for a bolder look.
Once the paper was adhered I began to arrange my bits and pieces into a focal on the panel and then adhered them. I added a sentiment strip and some black gesso splatters.
Here is a little closer look…
Other items used:
