One of the things I love about using chipboard in my work is the versatility. You can cut it easily to work for your projects as I did with the chain frame. For this project I also discovered that chipboard can be embossed! I placed my gears in a patterned embossing folder and ran them through just as I would paper! Instant texture! The moths and screws are molded using molding material and silicone molds.
The tags were first covered with patterned paper and then a layer of gesso applied. Stamping and stenciling were added and then left to dry overnight. The molded pieces and gears were assembled on my tags and then the layering began!
Many layers of alternating ink sprays and fluid acrylics is how I achieved my rust and patina look. Once I achieved the look I wanted I added wax and glitter to my tags.
**Tip** Use a heat tool and light water sprays while moving ink around. Be sure your ink is barely damp when moving to the next color.
Thanks So much for viewing my project today!
