Hi friends! Dana here today sharing a mixed media scrapbook layout that was inspired by Carmen Miranda and her signature fruit turban. I’m always looking for ways to add color to my grey mid-west winter. I recently spotted a pinkglow pineapple at the grocery store and it was just what I needed to lift my spirits. I used almost all the fruit chipboard pieces I had on this bright and bold page that has me singing “Chica Chica Boom Chic!”
After stenciling the face onto a piece of patterned paper, I applied white acrylic paint to chipboard fruit pieces, leaves, and a butterfly. A white base coat will help to keep the colored acrylic paint vibrant.
I arranged the fruit and leaves around the face. I used 3D Foam Squares in places to add dimension to the page.
I used letter stickers and die-cuts to embellish the space around the photo and finished this page with some handwritten journaling. There is a fantastic selection of fruit designs in the Creative Embellishments Store. I only used about half of the designs on this page.
