Hello my fellow CE fans, welcome back! The Halloween season is almost over. So I’m gonna finish it off properly. Today I’m sharing my final gory make for this holiday season a 5×7 inch shadow box I altered. This has been a fun-filled creative season this year! I hope you have enjoyed the journey with me. I’m looking forward to Christmas this year too. Since COVID-19 happened, we haven’t taken the time to decorate, have you? We decided, as a family, to forgo this year too. Next year though we will be set up for success for all seasons!! Creative Embellishments sure make it easy to create year-round. Don’t you agree?
**Let’s get messy, shall we?!**
1. Choose some background paper and distress the edges with some black ink
Hint: I used burlap style paper to keep it neutral and to not take away from the heart
2. Adhere your paper to the base of the frame and slowly drip some red paint down its front
Hint: Make blood-colored paint, then splatter on bright red paint to add contrast
4. While that dries, alter your moss using red spray
5. Fill the glass vials alternating with moss, skulls, and eyeballs
6. Now begin assembling bay adhering the heart to the paper
7. Add all your bones, glass vials, and a bit of moss
8. Splatter the entire surface with the same red paints
9. Lastly, add a screw to the skull in the middle of the heart
Hint: I think it adds a bit of flair and drama to the piece overall
10. To finish off the look add a bit of tattered cloth to the outside of the box
