Now onto our amazing teams creations!

Hello, everyone, I would love to share my take on the monthly challenge here at Creative Embellishments. I love doing sketch challenges. They can really get the creative juices flowing, and the twists really make you get crazy creative! I have been wanting to scrap these photos of our last trip over seas. And the Blues from the paper were perfect to match the photos. I started with some texture on the background, the paper added a abundance so I didn’t want to cover it up too much. I added a little crackle paste with the Flourish Stencil 3.   I build up the background with more texture from ribbons and burlap. I took the tag shapes from the sketch and used various tags from the Tags Set 1, adding vintage paper from the late 1800’s.  I actually got the books on this particular trip with Laneen. After building up the background, I used the Rectangular Stitched Frame to frame the photos, instead of three separate ones in the sketch. I added flowers, resin and metal embellishments to each of the flower clusters.  And finished it off wih the Best Things Title. Enjoy the creative video below and I look forward to the entries this month.

Here is a short video of the creative process.

Welcome to March, everybody! It’s time for a new Challenge here at Creative Embellishments. I love that this month we are having a sketch challenge! It’s a great way to create a new page and ensure a superior result. These photos are of my Mom and Dad taken many years ago. They are are grainy but I love the memories anyway. My Aunt Fonsene is in the photo to the left and little ole me is on the far right. My papers and mediums are all 13 Arts. Cant wait to see what you create! Here is a list of the CE products that I’ve used:  Cross Stitch Border Time Flies Frame Set Mason Jar Banner Clock StencilCircle Bokeh Stamp

Happy March everyone! I love using a sketch to jump start a layout. Besides the sketch, I was inspired by: 1. the banner at the top- it reminded me of camping lights. I used the Bauble Banner and colored it with gold acrylic paint and then dry brushed orange on it. I used a small circle punch and punched patterned paper and added those to the larger baubles. 2. The lacy border- I used the Lace Border 6 and painted it the same as the banner. 3. The 3 frames reminded me of the Fancy Rectangle Frame Set, so I colored it the same way as the other 2 chipboard pieces and added it to the top of my middle photo. I am looking forward to seeing your take on the sketch!

Mixed Media Rock 'n' Roll Scrapbook Layout Using Chipboard, Wood Veneer, Stencils, and Stamps from Creative Embellishments

What a great challenge this month! I was inspired by many of the elements in the sketch. I was inspired by the horizontal stripes in the sketch to build up layers of patterned paper in the center of the page. I used the Star Bokeh Stencil and the Grunge Stars Stamp with chalk ink to add stars to the top layer of patterned paper. I used the Film Strip Picture Frame Set on top of my photos. Instead of adding tags to my design, I used Wood Veneer Music Notes and a guitar from the Chipboard Guitar Set. For the twist, I added a Honeycomb Stitched Border over the seam of two pieces of patterned paper. The chipboard and wood veneer pieces on this page were colored with acrylic paint and then a layer of glaze or glitter glue.

Hi everyone and welcome to the March Challenge!  Hard to believe it’s the first of  March.   I think about Spring which will be coming soon.  Love this time of the year where nature reblooms.  I used the sketch to create a Spring inspired tag.  Papers and die cuts are from Stamperia Imagine and House of Roses collections along with some beautiful Creative Embellishments chipboard.  At the base of my tag I used the  Slim Frame 2 and Ornate Mini Borders embossed with a mixture of Ranger Potting Soil  and Stampendous Aged Ivory.  Tucked within my layers are Leaves Cluster, embossed with Stampendous Aged Ivory and Aged Aqua Embossing Enamel and pieces from Mosaic Panel embossed with Stampendous Aged Rose Embossing Enamel.  The twist, add stitching, I used my sewing machine to stitch around all the papers on my tag.  I hope you’ll join us this month.  Can’t wait to see what you create.

Maggi Harding – Scrap, Travel & Bark!

Happy March everyone!  I am thinking spring, vacation, good bye Covid, hello New Year and it’s got to be better, right?!  I used the sketch as a take off point for this layout with photos taken while on vacation in Naples, FL a few years ago.  I used chipboard the Zigzag Stitch Border and the Cross Stitch Border to meet the twist of adding stitching to my project.  The Palm Cluster Set  and the Palm Leaves 3 set work great under my flowers and add to the Florida look  of this layout. And, for a title, well, Vacation works just fine!  I used Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Enamel on the stitches and title.  The leaves are colored with Lindy’s mists.  Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

It’s March already, and now we’re sharing our March Challenge Inspiration. Here is the layout I created based on the March Challenge.

Creative Embellishments Chipboard Used:
Ribbon Frames (2 sets)
Gorgeous Small Border Word Set
Lacy Border

I covered the small border word title using copper embossing powder. I covered the smaller pair of frames using white paint and a foam stencil brush. Then I covered the larger middle frame and the lacy border using Soft Fallen Snow embossing powder. For all of the details you can check out my full blog post HERE.

Hello friends.  Jennifer Snyder here sharing my interpretation of the March challenge.  I added a St. Patrick’s Day theme to my large shaker tag.  Tis the season!

The chipboard used today is Creative Embellishments Large Tag Set , Teddy Bear Shaker Set, and Clover Chipboard set.  The treatments on the shaker and clover set are a combination of Distress Ink and Aged Gold Embossing powder.

I hop you consider playing along this month.
