Hi CE chipboard fans!!!  Remember last month when I mentioned that I had become obsessed with making mini-albums?  Well, so far I have put together 5 of them.  Mind you I haven’t embellished them or put photos in them, or any of the fun stuff.  I just love putting the pages together, it’s liking finishing a puzzle.  Anyway, I’m sharing an album for the next few weeks that Creative Embellishments has developed some very cool chipboard to compliment the theme.  It is based on a futuristic or industrial, mechanical underwater steampunk sea creature  very cool sort of vibe.  The paper collection is from Stamperia (Sea World) and the design of the album was done by Daphne at Scrap and Create.  This is an 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ album.  I’ve made it for my grandsons (there will be 2 of course).  Today I am sharing the cover and will be featuring additional pages in the coming weeks.  Hope you like it, I love the theme, and the chipboard is to die for!!!!

There are 4 different layers on the front of the cover at different heights.  I have popped them up using large foam sheets that I have glued down.  Lets peek at the Steampunk Starfish.  I paint him with silver metallic paint then used black distressing ink to add dimension and distressing.

The next piece of chipboard is one of my new faves it’s the Steampunk Diver’s Helmet  I painted this piece with a copper acrylic paint, and then used a brass paint on the trim.  When the piece had dried I rubbed the piece with a brass wax to tone down the bright copper.  I also added some black ink for dimension.

I added a metal mechanicals piece for the starfish to rest upon.

This is a fun project with lots of great color, hidden surprises, flips and magical sea creatures.  I do hope you will check back next week for more pages.  Thanks for stopping by~~~
