Now onto the DT’s stunning creations!
This month I was inspired by both the colors in the Challenge image as well as the photo of the woman surrounded by lights. My project photo is of a mannequin in a Bergdorf Goodman holiday window was taken in 2016. The store windows in NYC during the holidays are always an inspiration to fellow artists of all kinds. My photos are certainly not professional but they hold wonderful memories. My six (6) Creative Embellishment pieces are the Large Tags, Berry Frame 4, Berries, Chipboard Snowflakes, Shine Flair Silver and “Chilly” from the Blizzard Word Set. My paints and mediums are all from 13 Arts except for some snow glitter per the twist. I’ve also used a sheet of Glossy Silver/Gold foil from the Frosted Foiled Paper Variety Pack from Rinea as part of our March Collaboration. I cut the foil sheet into a doily with an older Prima die. Love how it turned out. For more details please visit my blog HERE. Can’t wait to see your take on the Challenge! Have fun!
“Protect Your Magic” This month we are doing a collaboration with Rinea using their delicious foiled papers. I am inspired by the colors in the mood board along with the mystical nature of the “Aurora Borealis.” The photo with the wings too inspired me and of course the beautiful floral dress. I decided it was high time to alter an old glass bottle. I used the Wing Set 2 to which I altered using two different types of shimmery embossing powders from Lindy’s Gang. The Moon Fairies I felt went perfectly with this mood board and altered them with colored texture pastes and purple wax from Finnabair Studio. I used the Rinea Foiled Paper Variety Pack “Pastels” with a floral die to adorn the frame. For the twist in our challenge this month, glitter, I used some color-changing beads that glisten in the light along with some glittery flowers. As most of you know, purple is my favorite color so creating this was a delight! I don’t create with purple often enough. If you’d like to know more details visit my blog.
This month I was inspired by the colors and woman in the mood board. I created a layout of my daughter traveling in Germany. With our collaboration with Rinea this month, I decided to back my cut file with the gorgeous foils. I used the greens from the Woodlands Foiled Paper Variety Pack, the blues from the Frosted Foiled Paper Variety Pack and the orange and pink from the Floral Foiled Variety Paper Pack. I added a few roses from Rose Set 1, colored with mist around the photo. For my title, I used the word “Excursion” from the Travel Word Set 2. I added the Imagine Quote for my sub-title. I colored the word pieces with brown embossing powder. I heat set and let cool. Then added a glitter embossing powder on top for the twist on the challenge. I finished my layout off with watercolor, stitching, Tim Holtz word stickers and some enamel dots. For more details and close ups, please visit my blog HERE.
Maggi Harding – Scrap Travel & Bark
My inspiration comes from the aqua colors in the mood board. I used the Intricate Diamond Frame and the Small Sentiment Words on the card and the small frame from the Fancy Oblong Frame Set on the tag. Since the twist this month is to use glitter, I used Stickles on the words on both the card and tag.
We are collaborating with Rinea foils this month so I embossed gold foil paper from the Metallics Foiled Paper Variety Pack to place in the center of my frames and rubbed with Alcohol Blending Solution to reveal the silver underneath the gold color. Then I made flowers for the card using blues from the Frosted Foiled Paper Variety Pack. YOu can find all the details on my blog, Scrap Travel & Bark. I hope you’ll join in our challenge!
Hi everyone and welcome to the March Challenge! We’ve got another fabulous mood board this month, filled with lots of bold and vibrant colors. The twist, add glitter. I was inspired by the colors and the flowered gown. I used a piece from Triptych 3 which I covered with paper. I added some texture with a stencil, modeling paste and various colors or paints and mists. I added layers using some cheesecloth, lace, flowers and Ribbon Frame, Vine Corner and Dress Form Set of 3. I added some prills, micro beads and glitter around my flowers. This month we are partnering with Rinea Foils. I added some small purple flowers which I punch from the Pastels Foils Variety Pack and I used a blue piece from the Frosted Foil Variety Pack. I used a die and cut a small circular floral frame and placed it around the center flower. Beneath the center flower I used a Prima die and cut two flowers, one purple and one blue from the foil variety packs. I hope you’ll join us this month. Can’t wait to see what you create.
Hi everyone and welcome to the March Challenge! The mood board this month is filled with lots of vibrant colors and the twist is to glitter! I loved the flowered gown in the mood board…beautiful flowers and rich purple and aqua! I used The small butterfly from the Butterfly Set and one of the flourishes from the Leafy Corner Flourish Set
This month we are collaborating with Rinea Foils. I added flowers using the foils and also after I die cut the florals into the card I added foil as a background behind the die cut.
I added my glitter to the Leafy Corner Flourish.
I hope you’ll play along with our challenge this month!!!
Good morning!
I had so much getting messy with this layout! I was inspired by the colors in the mood board! The Rinea peacock foil papers were perfect for it!
For the twist I created glitter paste! I used the flourish 17 and the crackled brick stencil and the out of the world frame from Creative Embellishments!
Welcome to another month at Creative Embellishments. This month will have some gorgeous projects and lots of inspiration. This month I did a quick set of mini canvas’s from inspiration of the mood board. I pulled the blues and the greens and the mood board spoke to me in a celestial way. I wanted to play around with a few techniques. I started with making some negative impressions with the Grunge Star Stamp and some modeling paste. I also added a little more texure with the Fairy Dust Stencil. I did make a short video of the creative process. After I added some colours with some spray’s I grabbed some bits and bobs of old sets I had used on other projects, and used the Star Pieces and Constellations to put the cluster together.
Welcome March!! I adored this month’s beautiful challenge, here is what I created based on that fabulous mood board.
Magical Word Set Intricate Square Frame Photo or Page Corner Set 2
This layout also features Rinea Foil (Peacock Variety Pack), I cut pieces to different sizes and crumpled them all to create this mosaic background of beautiful jewel tone colours. I also splattered coordinating paint colours to a piece of 12×12 black cardstock for my background layer.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

It looks as if you’ve left out the A in creative. It should be creativeembellishments.
