Happy New Year Everyone! I was inspired by the snow and pine trees in this mood board. On the background, I used the Fairy Dust Stencil and put light modeling paste through it. Once it was dry, I added watered down mist. I let it dry again and then added some machine stitching. I took 3 of the Large Snowflakes, added Gesso and let them dry. Then I heat embossed them in silver. I cut one in half and added the halves to the right side and bottom of my layout. The other two, I placed some tangled thread under. I added a Distressed Snowflakes Flair to the one to the right of my photo. I heat embossed the words from the Snow Pretty Word Set and added some above and below my photo. For my title, I used “Snow Storm” from the Blizzard Word Set. I heat embossed this as well. To finish off the layout, I added some stickers. I added the modeling paste, stitching, paper tearing and distressing for lots of texture. I am looking forward to seeing your take on the challenge and may you have a healthy 2020! You can see more details on my blog: Lisa’s Scrappy Hideaway.
Gosh, I can hardly believe that it is already a New Year .. and even more a new decade! But here we are, still having fun with our chippys! This month I was inspired by the wintry feel of Challenge image and decided to scrap one of my many “Ice Queen” images, in this case, a winter bride. I just took the time to enjoy playing with texture and added lots of different elements. My chipboard trees are from the Tall Trees set. I’ve painted them several shades of green and then added Glitter Snow for texture per the twist. My title piece is the Let it Snow set which was painted white. When it was dry, I added glitter to that as well. For more details and close-up images, please visit my blog: Soft Side of Sandi. I can’t wait to see your designs!
Happy New Year to all and what an amazing way to get the new year started than playing around with the inspiration image for the month of January.. I absolutely love winter (call me crazy) because of the “Frosty” weather and all the wonderful photos we get throughout the different season.. I was inspired by the snowflakes and the cold winter scene.. I used pinks and grays, with a touch of blue.. I wanted to try to create an elegant layout, so I used one of the Scroll sets (Scroll set 2), painted it white and added drops of Silver Nuvo drops.. I then used some of the snowflakes (Chipboard snowflakes) and my title Frosty is from the (Snow word set). For the texture part of the challenge, I used the snowflakes stencil and some texture paste (white). I also used the Distressed Text Stamp to create the background. This was a fun challenge to play with and I hope you find some time to play along with us this month.. for more information and lots of close ups of my layout, please stop by my blog by clicking HERE
Hello and Happy New Year! I grew up where we got lots of snow and have always loved snow. These days though, now that I live in Texas the closest I get to snow is in my craft projects. This month’s challenge photo inspired me to create a scrapbook layout using a photo of where I grew up, Lake Tahoe, NV.
On the background, I used the Fairy Dust Stencil with some TCW White Pearl Modeling Paste and then sprinkled some Prism Glitter over it to give it a little more texture and shimmer. On the Tall Tree, I painted it with white gesso mixed with a little black paint to create a light gray. Then painted it with some TCW Gel Medium and added some chunky snow glitter and some snow texture. I did the same on the Berry Branches but did not add any of the chunky glitter to the branches. On the Chipboard Snowflakes, I painted them with the white gesso and then TCW Gel Medium and sprinkled some Prism Glitter on them. I repeated the same thing on the title Heavenly that is from the Paradise Word Set and then rubbed some Nuvo Crystal Drops over it with my finger. I also added some of the Nuvo Crystal Drop to the berries on the branches and some drops onto the tree.

Hi everyone! Happy new year! So excited to continue my term on this fabulous design team! I love the mood board for the January Challenge. I found it very magical and was inspired to create this wintry canvas. I used papers from Stamperia’s Blue Stars paper collection along with an 8 x 8 canvas. Lots of layering, stamping, flowers and Creative Embellishments Chipboard. I used the following chipboard, Circle Stitched Frame, Leaves Set 1, Large Snowflake Set, Falling Snow Set and pieces from the Poinsettia Set. I hope you’ll join us this month! For more details and close ups, please visit my blog here.

Welcome to 2020, my crafty friends! A new year, a new month and a new challenge. I absolutely love the beautiful mood board of images and based my layout on the general cool tones, and the sparkly snow. I added the challenge TEXTURE by using cheesecloth, dimensional gems and chunky embossing powders.
I covered all of the snowflake chipboard pieces using Soft Fallen Snow embossing powder, so add a distressed look, I tapped off extra embossing powder. When covering the “Sparkle” title work with embossing powder, first I sprinkled white embossing powder across the middle of the word, then added Sterling Silver embossing powder to the top and bottom of the word.

Hello friends! Can you believe another New Year is here!!! Time goes by so fast! With the new year comes a new challenge and for me lots of snow! I’m so happy to say that I will be continuing on with Creative Embellishments this year as a designer. Looking forward to sharing my work and being inspired by our great fans!
The mood board this month has so many beautiful colors and when the added twist was to add texture….well who doesn’t love texture! I added lots of texture using stencils and modeling paste, die cuts and mica flakes. the chipboard pieces I used also have tons of texture! On this layout, I used Creative Embellishments Pine Cone Branch, Pine Cone Clusters and Tree Rings.

I’m so thrilled to be back on the Design Team here and I’m starting this New Year off with a big tag for a big bang! I love the Large Tags because there’s so much to play and embellish! I began by painting my background white and then to create texture, I stenciled on the background using the Flourish Stencil. I used Chipboard Snowflakes, and the Falling Snow Set to add lots of winter charm to my picture of my sweet pup Nika. She doesn’t particularly like the snow, can you tell by the look on her face? To add even more texture, I used a glittery texture paste on the snowflakes to really make them stand out. Stop by my blog for all the details.

Welcome to 2020. Wow where did the year go???? I am happy to say I am on CE for another term. I am grateful to be with such an amazing group of talented people. Thank you.
On to my first project for 2020! here is a mixed media layout based off the January challenge. Here is a fun layout made of our annual tree hunting at the tree farm. The tractor ride, hot chocolate and just get family fun. I started this layout with some subtle background texture with the distress crackle stamp and the Snowflake stencil. I ending up mixing paste with glitter to get the subtle effect. I added more paste to the second layer with the Falling Stars Stencil. After various layers I did a fair amount of emobossing on theSnowflake Doily and the Icicle Frame. After adding various elements like flowers, antique paper and ribbon, I finished off the page with the “Chilly” word from eh Blizzard Word Set.
Here is a short video of the creative process. Happy New Year to you all!~~~
