Wow! Can you believe it’s October already?! Summer went way too fast for me.

This layout turned out completely different than what I had in mind when I first started it. LOL! I was inspired by the fall forest photo on the right and the lace hanging on the clothesline. I used Autumn Sentiments, Autumn Leaves Set and Dripping Hearts Lace Border. I colored all of these pieces using Nuvo Glitter Markers. I am looking forward to seeing your take on the challenge.

Here is the October challenge, and I totally went Shabby Chic, The mood board is so vintage and elegant how could I not. This will be perfect for that Vintage, mixing lace and ribbons and of course beautiful flowers. I used multiple products to pull off this shabby chic. I  started with the base of the card with some texture from the distress patterns stencil and some paste, top it off with some microbeads. I also wanted to have these beautiful flower clusters and heat embossed the ornate leaves to add to it. I topped off the cards with the Small Sentiments. I hope you all play along!

I had fun creating this cozy mood board for October and hope you like it! I wanted something transitional, Fall-ish and kind of shabby chic.  As for my creation, I was especially inspired by the linens on the clothesline and the funky, almost steampunk dress form lampshades.
My original intention was to scrap a photo of my parents or myself but ultimately, I decided on an easel card and used the nostalgic Graphic 45 Portrait of a Lady paper collection. The Large Clock Face 5″ reminds me of time gone by while the Moroccan Lattice Panel makes me think of traveling somewhere grand. The Ivy Sprigs represent my need for greenery in my home and in my art.
I can’t wait to see what you create this month!

Creative Embellishments Chipboard Used:

Twig Frame                 Autumn Word Set                   Autumn Leaves

I treated all of my chipboard using Emerald Creek embossing powders, first by adding Burnt Copper Leaves embossing powder to the words and frame. The words only have the one embossing powder colour. Then I added Forest Foliage embossing powder to the outer edges of the frame, and finally Vintage Ivy to just the tips of the outer edge of the frame. These powders blended beautifully.

I used Gold Sparkle embossing powder on the leaves I used around the flowers.
You can get all of the layout details on my blog HERE.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi everyone!  Debbie Burns here with my take on the October Challenge, an oversized tag.  I love this time of the year.  It is normally cooler and the leaves begin to change colors. Autumn is my favorite time of the year. But here in Maryland, it has been in the ’90s and the leaves are still green.   I was inspired by several elements of the mood board, the colors, the wreath, the clothespin, and the twist add lace.  I used several pieces of chipboard,  Delicate IvyPalm LeavesWisteria,   Tree Rings and Scroll Set 2.  I hope you’ll join us this month.  Happy creating!

I had so much fun getting a bit messy with the chipboard on this layout!  Lots of layers of paint and mists and dry brushing add lots of depth the already awesome chipboard pieces

Hello friends!  Debbie Sherman here with my take on the October Challenge.
To alter the chipboard I simply rubbed the pieces with Copper Metallique wax.
I loved the mood board this month especially the lace, twine, the creamy linens, and the wooden clothespins.

Hello, Jennifer Snyder here with my interpretation of October’s Monthly Challenge at Creative Embellishments.  For me, the challenge image feels like a warm Autumn day as the sun is setting – what’s called the “golden hour”. In photography, the golden hour is the period of daytime shortly after sunrise or before sunset, during which daylight is redder and softer than when the Sun is higher in the sky.
I am featuring two new shaker card designs; the Leaf Shaker set and Pumpkin shaker set.  Each was painted with vanilla colored acrylic paint ( not white and not cream, but the perfect blend of both), then inked with purples and brown distress ink and finally stenciled with heavy molding paste and  Creative Embellishments “Rope” stencil.

Hello! Nadine here with my take of this months challenge.  I went a simple background of white and just added a few sprays of color spray and also flicked some color spray onto the background too. I then painted the Falling Leaves chipboard piece and the sentiment that came in the Autumn Leaves Set with some white Gesso.  Then sprayed them with some mustard and olive green color spray and dried them with a heat tool. For the Fancy Rectangle Frame Set, I did the same thing but sprayed an orange color spray on it. The Acorn Clusters I did not paint with the Gesso, but I did spray them with some color spray. I just sprayed them onto the raw chipboard to give them a deeper and darker color.
