Hello scrappy chipboard fans!!!  Kathy Mosher here with you today with a layout of my niece Breanna.  She is one of my favorite models.  She is such a stunning young lady.  For this layout I wanted to create the illusion of the branch of flowers continuing across the page with  Bre’s photo in the center.

I used the paper collection “Ladies and Gentlemen” from Craft ‘O Clock, a Polish scrapbook manufacturer.  Usually I prep all my chipboard with gesso, to keep the color of paints or embossing powders true, which I did on every piece of CE chipboard, but the doily around the photo of Bre.  On the far right side I used the new Mini Leaves Set 1, which I hand painted using Tim Holt’z Distress Stain “Peeled Paint”.  I also sprinkled silver microbeads on top, which I adhered with matte gel.

I used the Doily Frame Set 2 to frame around the photo.  I put several coats of Lindy’s “Twiddle Dee’s Dum Denim” ink on the bare chipboard and it was too dark for the layout so I used some Prima Art Alchemy Opal Magic “Pale Turquoise” wax which I gently rub into the chipboard.  That helped to calm down the color.

To create the illusion of the branch of flowers continuing across the page I used Flourish 14 which is hand painted with the Tim Holtz Distress Stain and sprinkled with the microbeads.  I also fussy cut flowers from a coordinating paper in the collection and placed them so that they added to the illusion.

Breanna is graduating from high school this year, so this is a graduating page gift for her.  I left some inspirational little messages around the layout, but the title is the most important one to me Do the Things.  “Do the things you think you cannot do.”  I hand painted it with the same Lindy’s spray ink as the doily.  At the bottom right of the title I fussy cut some more flowers, added some paper flowers and a doily and that’s it.

I am not sure why I enjoyed creating this layout so much.  It is such a simple one with not much to it.  Maybe it’s the colors, the lines, or it’s simplicity, but I really like it.  Hope you do too.  Thanks for stopping by.  Hope to see you again.  Until then here is an Alaska Bear Hug…..Fall is making it’s way up here, the leaves are already starting to turn, wildfires are still burning, there is a slight chill in the air…won’t be long….
