Happy June and happy summer, finally!

I was inspired by the carnival theme of the inspiration photo and decided to use photos of my son on the skywheel at Niagara Falls. I used the Ferris Wheel and colored it with Nuvo Glitter Markers. To the bottom right of my photos, I added a wood veneer Heart Cluster Piece. I colored it with the Nuvo Glitter Markers. For the banner challenge, I used the Bauble Banner and colored it with the markers as well. This was such a fun layout to create! I am looking forward to seeing your take this month!

Welcome to the June Challenge here at Creative Embellishments!

I was inspired by the sheer happiness that looking at the challenge image conveyed. So, because I have a bazillion family birthdays in June, it seemed fitting to create a card tag duo for one of my girly birthday people. I’ve used this paper collection before and it sure helps to convey the party theme … and it looks amazing paired with Nicolle’s chipboard left in the raw, unaltered state, For the card I’ve used the Happy Birthday Banner and crisscrossed the two pieces. When I ordered it, I was unsure if I’d use it on a layout or other project but layering helped it fit. Nicolle can custom size your cuts if you request that. I also added a half butterfly from the Flourish Butterfly Set 2. For the tag I used the Birthday Word Set and layered in one of pieces from the Heart Pieces set. Some layers, punchwork, inking, flowers and gesso and twine … and they were done! Can’t wait to see what you create!

Chipboard Roller Coaster Summer Amusement Park Scrapbook Layout

Hi friends! What a fun challenge this month! I was inspired by the amusement park theme as well as the overall design placement of the elements in the image. The roller coaster, hot air balloons, and fun color palette really caught my eye, and I made sure to include all of those pieces on my layout. I can’t enjoy the thrill rides as much as I used to, but I never pass up a chance to take a ride on the Ferris wheel. I snapped this photo from above during my last carnival visit. I had a lot of fun adding movement to my design with the Chipboard Roller Coaster, rising hot air balloon stickers, and flowing paper triangle banner. The Echo Park Everyday Eclectic collection, with the super fun mix of Ferris Wheel and roller coaster images, was perfect for the challenge theme this month. I hope you’ll find the time to join us!

Hey everyone, and hello June! With a new month comes a new challenge, and this month I was inspired by the Hot Air Balloons in the image as well as the sweet light colour palette. I created my layout using the following Creative Embellishments Chipboard:
Treasure Border Words,   Hot Air Balloon Set 2,   Fancy Rectangle Frame Set

First I covered each piece of chipboard with Distress Paint- Picket Fence, and then using Cotton Candy Color Bloom Spray from Prima, I misted the ends of the word border and the tops of the hot air balloons. I used the same mist a soft bristled paint brush, to brush the colour onto the frame. Once dry I added Stickles to the frame, balloons and the ends of the word border.
For all the details on how I created my layout be sure to pop on by my blog HERE.

I was inspired by the roller coaster tracks and the round ferris wheels.  I used the following chipboard,  Circle Doodle FramesTravel Corner,  Steampunk Artist Trading Cards and Nautical Compass.  All of the chipboard was treated with inks and waxes.   I hope you’ll join us this month.  You can find more details and pictures of my canvas on my blog here.

Hi everyone and welcome to the June challenge! I love making beach themed layouts and the banner twist was fun. I used the Distressed Text stamp in the background, and tucked in some Seaweed, Fishnet Panel pieces and a Compass Rose. To finish it off I added pieces from the On the Beach Word Set on the Banner. I hope you all play along and I can not wait to see what you make!!!!!!!!

Another great challenge at Creative Embellishments,  I’m sharing a fun mixed media tags I made for  a friends birthday.  I love these large tags and they are the best palette to play on. I started out in my usual fashion and adhered some paper to the base and did some subtle background stamping with the Grunge Star and Distress Script stamp. I matched the paper with some paste and mica powder and layer a thick layer with the Distress Checkered Stencil. Then it was a matter of adding the twist to the challenge with the banner and putting it all together. I had some left over We’re All Mad Chipboard and added some more checkers with the grunge checkered boarder.

I made a little video of the fun created process. I hope to see the great entires.

Jennifer Snyder here with my interpretation of the June challenge.  My inspiration is actually more the emotions and memories I get when I look at the image.
I remember the summer festivals, amusement parks and family traditions centered around Memorial Day, July 4th and other patriotic events.  I created a patriotic projects to tie my feelings and childhood experiences to the image.
I am featuring some of Creative Embellishments patriotic pieces including the new shaker design – the USA Flag Shaker Set filled with Buttons Galore and More shaker mix.
