Tracy McLennon here, and today I am sharing a nautical themed layout that I have created. A little something about me….I LOVE lighthouses. Everything about them. Their purpose, the folklore, just the look and diversity of each one. I love them SO much that my husband and I were married in front of a lighthouse.
So, whenever I can I like to find new lighthouses to photograph. This is a lighthouse we found this past summer, and I’m so happy I could scrapbook with the photo now. Here are all of the details.
These are the Creative Embellishments pieces that I used on my layout.
Nautical Lighthouse
Nautical Compass
Nautical Anchor
I started treating the chipboard on this layout, first my misting the chipboard with Distress Spray Stain, Walnut Stain. Then brushed some black ink (Distress Oxide Ink- Black Soot), to add a little dimension.
Then using an embossing pad, I added some chunky embossing powder. I added more to the lighthouse and anchor, and a little bit to the compass.
The finishing touch to the lighthouse was to add mica flakes to the bottom portion, to look like the rocks on a shore.
I created some fishing net from string to accompany the anchor on the layout.
I created a distressed and antiqued layout for this photo with lots of dimension and texture.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
