Hello My Scrappy Friends!!! I’m back today with another “frosty”, wintery layout. These are my favorite to create, probably why I live in Alaska. I LOVE WINTER, it’s so fresh, quiet and pretty. I love the colors in this photo, and I also love comfy, baggy sweaters, mittens and hats. Such a perfect photo to scrap.
I did a lot of paper ripping, stamping, gesso splattering and inking to get my background prepared for the chipboard, photo mats and photo. I started with the Stars in My Universe Frame which I gessoed first with 2 layers and then used Ranger’s “Snowflake Tinsel” Embossing Powder. It sparkles like CRAZY. Try it you will not be disappointed.
I added tons of flowers, holly leaves, snowflakes, hand dyed flowers, sprigs, and Watercolor Snowflake Flair around the base of the frame. So much fun to create.
At the tops of each of the clusters I used the Vintage Flourish 1 which I heat embossed with the Ranger “Snowflake Tinsel” and cut in half and tucked into the clusters.
And finally for the title “Let It Snow”, I worked like crazy on this one. I used gesso on it first (2 layers), painted it in a light turquoise which matched the mittens perfectly, splattered it with white gesso, it looked too busy, so I used silver paint. This is the final result. Oh, when I started I heat embossed the snowflakes with the glitter embossing powder to make them sparkles
