Hello CE friends!! It’s already time for another challenge and the last one of the year. I can”t believe it’s December already. The year sure did fly by. This year has been quite the challenge…seemed like non stop machine issues, we had a few fires to put out, replacement parts, maintenance and we were even able to purchase a new machine. I have to admit it’s been an exhausting year. I really didn’t realize what we were truly in for in this type of business. Being small we do and maintaining all aspects is time consuming..designing, programming, machine tech, manufacturing , packaging.. etc…we wear a lot of pants. It has been an eye opening year and I hope next year runs much more smoothly. Enough business talk….

I want to thank all of our loyal friends, followers, DT members for all your support during the year. We wouldn’t be here without ya’ll. A huge heartfelt thank you to all and warm squishy hugs!!

Onto the challenge….please be inspired by 1 element from the picture below and for the twist: add an animal or pet to your project.

Marci Bensing

Hello! It’s Marci here today with memories of Christmas 2017!  My grandsons, Brian & Talan were so excited for Pop Pop and I to open our present from them (adorable photos of them in a cute frame)… Hoping you have a little time during this hectic month to join this month’s challenge!  CREATIVE EMBELLISHMENTS PRODUCTS USED:  Stars: I used Tim Holtz picket fence distress paint to color the wood veneer stars. Star Stencil: I used texture past to place sporadic stars from this stencil. Holly Jolly Flair: I placed one flair on the Santa/Sleigh (left natural!) and another next to the word GIFT. NORTH POLE: I used a little white ink on this sign to look like settling snow & ripped cotton below to look like snow too! STAR PIECES: I cut these and used Tim Holtz picket fence distress paint and tucked them to the side of the vertical photo.

Welcome to another month at Creative Embellishments and another new twist. This month was to use inspiration from the photo and add animals to the project. I decided to use a paper collection that had animals in it. I started with the Mitten Mini Album and added a fair number of background work with various stencils and stamps, one of my favourites is the Distress Grid stencil. And I also used the Snowflakes Stencil I got from inspiration form the photo. After the background work was done, it was a matter of putting together small clusters using the Pine Needle Frame and Snowflakes. Lots and lots of supplies used in this project so I made a video of how the album came together. I fun little mini album that can sit out all winter long. IMG_6586

Here is a little video of the creative process.

For this month’s Creative Embellishments challenge, I was inspired to create this winter wonderland layout and used the Reindeer Set for the twist.  I added Santa’s Star Sleigh and Pine Trees to create a winter scene.  I created my title from the Snow Word Set and Chucky Alphabet Set.  I decorated the chipboard with a variety of inks topped with glossy accents, crackle paint, and stickles.

For this month’s challenge, I felt that a Christmas card and tag set were in order. .. especially with the twist of adding an animal to your project. These Jumping Deer are such elegant pieces that I had to use them for this lovely card and tag. Along with the Circle Vine Frame and the bare Christmas Sentiments, my set was finished in no time. My chipboard was stained with walnut ink and then dabbed with small amounts of aged gold embossing powder. We hope you can find time to play along with us!

Hi everyone! Look at that adorable mood board..so much fun! My layout has some of the Large Snow flake chippys tucked in here and there in the clusters, along with those super fun textured chippy trees. I used a Whimsical Tree and a Pine Tree chippy and finished it all off with a Snow Day Flair. Have fun playing along and I cant wait to see what you make!!!!!!!!

Jennifer Snyder here to present my interpretation of the December Challenge at Creative  Embellishments.   My take is a warm old fashioned Christmas shaker card and traditional card with “Jingle Bells“…Creative Embellishments style.
The shaker card features the newly released Artist Trading Coins and Winter Artist Trading Coins decorated with some extra Chipboard Snowflakes.  Stop by my blog and check out the shaker card tutorial using the cool new trendsetting Artist Trading Coins.
Red and Green Mixed Media Christmas Scrapbook Layout with Holly Berry Frame and DIY Chipboard Christmas Lights
I think this festive steampunk challenge image is super cool! I was most inspired by the lightbulbs on the tree, the shades of blue in the background, and the Christmas theme. I selected one of my favorite photos of my nephew with his bulldog, laying under the Christmas tree, for the animal/pet twist. I created my own strand of lights using the Idea Bulbs, Ice Resin Gold Glitz Iced Enamels, blue tissue paper, and black hemp rope. To bring in a steampunk element I randomly stamped the base page using the Steampunk Clock Cluster Stamp and black chalk ink. To create a base for my photo, I heat embossed a Berry Frame 4 with Ice Resin Chartreuse Iced Enamels and then colored the berries with red puffy paint.
Hi everyone!  Hope you’re enjoying this Christmas Steampunk challenge!  I had a blast playing along with it and hope you will join the Creative Embellishments December Challenge too!  Here is my layout.
For all the fun gears chipboard pieces I added some foiling to them and then added some wax to highlight them a bit. The chipboard Clocks and gears are from the Steampunk Gear clock and Steampunk Clock 2, 3.I also used the Gear Corner Set, Steampunk clock Corner and hummingbirds
To alter the hummingbirds and word I embossed them with Gold Embossing Powder and again rubbed them with Wax.
For all the details you can visit my blog.  I hope you will play along with the Creative Embellishments team.  Can’t wait to see what you do.
