Hi everyone!  I’m really excited today to share with you another layout featuring my youngest grandson Cameron discovering how to use his Cub Scout knife and learning how to whittle wood.  You can tell by the photos that he is a very serious child.  I tried to depict that the glider was pulling him to new heights to learn new things.  I was inspired by this month’s Challenge which was to be inspired by something in the photo with the twist of adding something you discovered.  Hope you like it!

I used an old paper collection from 13 Arts that I love called “Timeless”.  I started on the background with one of my favorite stamps from Creative Embellishments called Binary Stamp

I ripped, splattered, inked and grunged up the layout as much as I could.  I love steampunk.  I especially love any form of GEARS!!!!!  Nicolle does a FABULOUS job with her designs.  I first used a set of the Gear Cluster Set 2 and painted it with a bright royal blue and then dabbed it with a copper acrylic paint.  Love the effect.  I got a different look between the top and the bottom sets.

I also included the cool Round Distressed Stamp which I also painted with acrylic paint in royal blue and then splattered with copper paint.  Such an awesome affect.

The next segment of the layout is finishing the Glider pulling the photos away.  I love this piece of chipboard, so many wonderful details.

I painted, rubbed wax, and splattered it.  Then I sewed some twine into it to look like wires attached to the photo piece.  Before I adhered the glider I added some cheesecloth to look like clouds and some art stones to mimic flowing air around the clouds.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!  I hope that you will join in on our monthly challenges.  Great prizes and lots of fun.  Till next time, here’s a Big Alaska Bear Hug!!!!
