Hello and Happy July! In the U.S. we think of Red, White & Blue when July starts!  I have done a page of my grandsons near the flag outside their home.  I had explained that I needed to do a Red, White & Blue page and they KNEW just what to do-I have trained them well! LOLOLOL!!!! Creative Embellishments (Click & Go!):  STARS FRAME:  I cut this in half, used white gesso and then white (Tim Holtz) Distress Paint. I also added a couple of painted stars on top. NESTED STARS:  I colored the stars with (Tim Holtz) distress paint. Grass Border:  I cut a piece, used green acrylic paint and placed it at the bottom of the photo.  I hope you can join us this month!

Hello, another layout today for the new challenge at Creative Embellishments. And another fun mixed media layout to share with you.

IMG_4519

This was such a fun layout to do, lots of texture and the pictures of course out of the 200 plus  taken, I did manage to get a couple good ones. Starting out with background stamping with the halftone trio stamp and the distress crackle stamp, I added to the background work with  the Independence Stencil. I did simple heat embossing with the title from the Independence word set along with the Grunge Corner Stars. The video process is available for your enjoyment.

I am so excited to share my first CE design team layout!  This challenge inspired me to scrap my baby boy’s first ever Fourth of July.  My stars and stripes elements come from the 4th of July chipboard piece.  I painted the chipboard with gesso and then used white perfect pearls to add a white shimmer finish to the piece.  I backed the piece with patterned paper to allow it to pop.  I also used the Stars Frame and accompanying stars, and treated the chipboard the same way, although I used silver perfect pearls instead of white.

Hurray for the red, white and blue!  I was completely inspired by this month’s patriotic photo and chose to honor my husband while meeting the twist of stars and stripes.  My husband was a Navy pilot and served for 24 years.  I adore the Airplane chippy (painted with silver paint), doesn’t it look cool flying right off the page?  There are 3 grunge corners that I absolutely adore, they are the heart, star and gear and I used the Grunge Star Corner on this layout.  I used silver and gold embossing enamel to gussy it up.  I love those dangling star tails!  Hope to see your creation in the challenge this month!

It’s celebration time with this festive inspiration challenge image. I had fun creating this lovely Large Tag. I started by covering it with a beautiful paper, the used distress ink to highlight the corners. I used white embossing to give highlight the gorgeous white Stars in my Universe frame. And bright red for my tag title: Celebrate. I love this picture of my boys, taken a few years go when we attended our first Formula 1 Grand-Prix race in Montreal. Now it’s your turn to join in on the fun, what will our challenge image inspire you to create?
I am sharing my project above that showcases a photo of my youngest Grand Daughter proudly boasting about being Canadian. I therefore had to use much more red with white and just a touch of blue in the stripes for my project. Using chipboard star doodle frame was perfect along with chunky alphabet set for the word Canada and the wavy filmstrip accent.
Hi everyone.. So glad you stopped by to check out our July challenge..  I was lucky enough to spend the Fourth of July with my husbands family a few years back up in Iowa, we were amazed at the air show.   I used Bo Bunny papers for my layout, love the happy whimsy prints and colors.. I also created some extra large paper clips using some of the star (stars frame) chippies, they can be removed and used in my planner 🙂  I also used one of the flourishes and added it to a large star, to create my embellishment for the bottom of my layout.. I cut the circle frame (Out of this world frame) in half, glued papers to the back and attached them by tucking them behind my photo mats and to finish off my layout, I added the “Beautiful Day” title to the top.. Because it truly was a Beautiful Day..

Hi everyone and Happy July! …New challenge fun with one of the NEW Large Tags! I have packed a lot of CE products on here and I love the way it turned out! Distressed text stamping in the background and the Stars in My Universe Frame as the center piece! I also tucked in some Moroccan Lattice Panel pieces and a fun Shine Gold Flair! Finished it all off with a sentiment from the Inspire Word Set. Have fun playing along and I cant wait to see what you make!!!!!!!!

For this month’s challenge, I was inspired to create this LO featuring my #1 star soccer goalie! I’ve used the CE chipboard Soccer Set #1, Soccer Flair, chipboard Nested Stars, wood veneer Stars, and chipboard Basic Alphabet. I painted the soccer net and soccer ball with Heavy White Gesso, then added silver metallic paint to the bars of the soccer net and black acrylic paint to sections of the soccer ball. I finished off the net by adding some white cheesecloth behind it to look like actual netting. I finished the soccer ball by adding some Glossy Accents. I embossed the chipboard and wood veneer stars with silver metallic embossing powder. I painted the #1 (from the Basic Alphabet) with blue acrylic paint and finished it with Glossy Accents. Finally, I completed the embellishment of the layout with a couple of pieces of soccer flair!

This inspiration image inspired me to create a masculine card featuring the stars and the colour palette that are also in the image. I combined different papers in the colours of the photo and used Creative Embellishments chipboard and a few stickers to embellish my card. I used the Grunge Heart Corner for my background. I cut off the key from this piece, because it didn’t fit anymore, and added it on the bottom of my card. I further embellished my card with a few Steampunk Gears 3/4″. I left the chippies blank, because I actually thought they matched my card quite well this way.

Hello CE friends! I was inspired by the picture in many ways. The flag, stars, stripes, colors etc. I added the heart with wings for all the heroes that served. I started with stamping the grunge stars image to the background of the canvas. I altered the  wing set 2 with TH distressed paints in white ,black soot weathered wood and hickery smoke, beads, star sequins, and gold stickles. The independence day word set were altered using TH paints as well. The doodle stars frame was altered with heavy gesso , prima mini art stones and beads.

Hello Everyone!!! It is my first project on the team and I’m so excited to share with you.  When I saw the photo of the July challenge I have been inspired by all the stars and the celebration theme. My life philosophy is that we have to celebrate and give love each day as is the last one.  I choose the beautiful : Stars is my Universe Frame that I applied two coats of gesso and then applied Sugar Glitter Paste to the stars. It gives a sparkly effect to all the stars and looks  fantastic in person.  And because it is a page about celebrate love I added the word love as my title from the Happy Word Set that I gave the same techniques that I made to the frame.  I hope all the projects inspire you , can’t wait to see your creation.
