Marci

Hello!  This is Marci.  This one was easy for me as my son has always been involved with music and bands.  This photo is from about 10 years ago in their “Metallica” pose (My son, Kevin, is on the right). I stamped music notes on the fringed black circle. completing this month’s TWIST.  I used a lot of CREATIVE EMBELLISHMENTS PRODUCTS-that is really easy because I love chipboard (I left most of it natural!) and I am totally in love with flair buttons! Links follow to those products I used above: Music note border, Moon Stars, Music flair button, RECORD w/dripping notes, Dream (inked and coated with Glossy Accents, STARS. I hope you have some time this month to join us!

Bev

Hi… Bev here. I am using some of the colours from the challenge mood board, the heart shapes and the twist part to use a stamp (love) and scribble heart stenciled using modeling paste to texture them. I added butterfly flair buttons and lots of amazing chipboards: Moments Word Set, single heart, heart border, washi tape shape clusters, and scribble hearts accent. The papers are PhotoPlay Bloom Collection, Blue Fern Soft Blossoms and some lace. The background is done with a plastic bag over my hand dabbing different colours of paint.

Hi everyone, I am so excited about sharing this most recent page with you today. When I saw this challenge image, I knew I wanted something fun and colorful. I dug out some old pictures of the boys and started to play with my stencils and distress inks for my background. Then I wanted to add some stamping. I chose the following stamps: Distressed  Script stamp and the Distressed corner stamp. Next step was to add a bit of momentum and volume to my page with a chipboard. I used the Circle Doodle Frame that I cut in half and covered with red paint.  I hope you will join in and participate in our challenge this month. Have a great day !

Hello and happy May Day!

There are so many things in this challenge photo to take inspiration from. I took mine from the music note, the sun burst and hearts. To create my background, I added watercolors and then using the Grunge Star Stamp stamped randomly on my page using black ink. I used one of the Music Note Borders, cut it in half and placed one half on each side of my photo. I used the Basic Alphabet Set for the “In Concert” part of my title.  I scattered some of the Wood Veneer Heart Clusters around my layout. I colored all of the Creative Embellishment pieces with my new Nuvo Glitter Markers.

Have a wonderful month and I can’t wait to see how the photo inspires you!

Maggi Harding

I thought this photo of my Mom and me was perfect for the month of May since Mothers’ Day is just around the corner.  The hearts in the photo, of course made me think of how much I love my Mom and what a wonderful person she is so that was my inspiration.  To meet the challenge twist, I stamped all around the edge of the paper with CE’s Burlap Stamp.   I did some masking on the background and added a torn corrugated strip on the side atop another piece of design paper and topped that with a beautiful lacy piece of chipboard, Dripping Heart Lace Border.  I painted the chippy with vintage white paint and then dabbed on some vintage gold Prima wax.  Underneath the photo I used a Square Mini Frame  that I cut in two pieces and slipped under opposing corners of the photo.  I used Prima Vintage Gold wax to color the chipboard.  The wax works great on the chippies!  I used another  Square Mini Frame  under the floral cluster of Petaloo Botaonicas and positioned it as a diamond shape and cut off the bottom.  For my title  I used two words from the Treasure Border Words set.   I’m looking forward to seeing your creations inspired by our photo!
Hi fellow scrappers..
I decided it was time to scrap an old photo I absolutely adore of my youngest son and I.  This was Mayday back in 1998 and we were all spending the day together at a picnic..  I used some of my favorite 7Dots papers which I gessoed with clear gesso, added some texture using the “Make your own music” stencil and some light texture paste, then adding some stamping using the Distressed script stamp. I also stuck with the theme of the challenge by adding some hearts, the music note border and because my childrens’ laughter is music to my ears, I added the title ” Live, Love, Laugh!”..which is the happy word set.. My childrens’ laughter is what I live for..
Let’s see your take on this months challenge..
Hi, Heather here today to share my take on the inspirational picture, I know exactly what I wanted to do, I took some pictures of the inside of my piano and decided to use them as the focal point of my layout. I started out with some background work with the Fishnet Stencil and some ink. Then added some subtle stamping with the Burlap Stamp. After the subtle background stamping was done I wanted to add some texture with the Ropes stencil and some texture paste. I used some stamping of a butterfly image in the background but I do get carried away sometimes when I get creating. I used the Flourish Set and painted it and then added more stamping right on the chip board with the Distressed Screen Stamp and again the Burlap Stamp. I added some music notes with the Music to my Ears Stencil which worked perfectly for this page and inspirational picture. You can watch the transformation video here
Hi, everyone ! For this challenge, I was inspiered by the rounded form as well as the yellow and orange colors. I added some hearts on my background with rub-ons  and put stars. For the twist, I used Distressed Circle stamp and Grunge Stars Stamp in tone on tone ink. I have fun to emboss the chippies (Washi Tape Shape Clusters, Washi Tape Clusters, ) I cut Nested Rectangles in half. I used You and Me Title for my title. I like the font. I look forward to your interpretations.

Shona Keehn

Hi everyone and welcome to the new May Challenge! I had fun making these tags. For the twist I did some background stamping with the Flourish Set 10 chipboard pieces…and then added them to the tags. Look at the adorable Square Mini Frames behind the cute fairies! Perfect tags for that next bottle or wine I take for the hostess at dinner! I hope you join along with this months challenge and can not wait to see what you all create.

Hello all!! I was inspired by the music elements in the photo above. I started with a large tag and I applied gesso to the whole background. I then sprayed the background with blue and pink mists. I followed by applying the distressed chevron and grid stamp images with black ink to the background. I then added TH music note washi tape. I then grabbed for my TH sun ray stencil and applied heavy gesso to add that image behind the Julie Nutting doll. I altered the music note frame 2, washi tape heart cluster, Dance to the beat of your dreams title piece and vintage flourish 3 chippies with TH stains and paints. I finished with a bunch of beautiful petaloo flowers.
