Hi all. Kelley here with a new project. Loving all the under the sea and steampunk themed chippies at creativeembellishments.com. The amount of detail is amazing. The engraving on the steampunk octopus alone is so swoon worthy. I had been saving this latern for ages waiting for the right project. When I saw that chippie, I immediately knew it was time. I inked him up with some Dr. PH Martins amber acrylic paint then added Heidi Swapp Color Shine Spray in coral. I inked up portions of him to darken areas with a rust ink pad and a dark bark Prima chalk edger. I paired the chippies with the Graphic 45 collection Under the Sea.
I used pieces of the collection along with Seaweed 2 and Seaweed 3 to build up the scene on the inside. I used different shades of green chalk edgers and the rust pad on Seaweed 2 and the rust pad on seaweed 3. I filled out the bottom of the lantern with sand and shells. It was a lot of fun to make. I cannot wait to use more of these sea themed chippies.
