Today I’m sharing a layout with you. This layout features a photo of my husband and I on Halloween. We normally don’t do much dressing up for the day, but last year we had a few family parties to attend and they just happened to be costume parties.

So we decided to go dressed as Bonnie and Clyde. Boy was it an “adventure”. One, trying to find the right clothes and two, trying to find the right clothes that fit my husband without him being there to try them on.

Here is my layout using that photo. I think we made a pretty good Bonnie and Clyde.

I tried to create a balance of masculine and feminine with the embellishments I chose. My husband hates it when I put flowers on layouts of him. I used flourish set 18 that I cut in half, under my photo.  I also used it in the little cluster in the bottom right. I also used distressed chicken wire border under my photo.

I first covered my chipboard pieces in gesso. I used a sponge to get the textured look. Then I used 2 coats of color bloom spray (with a paint brush) to get the color I wanted. Then I just rubbed on a bit of inka gold with my finger in spots to highlight.

Here are some close ups of the chipboard pieces:
