Hey Crafty Peeps! Tara here, hope you all are enjoying this wonderful fall weather, it has been beautiful here in Atlanta! Today I’m sharing with you another Halloween project created for Creative Embellishments, an altered paint brush.
I started with an ordinary paint brush that I purchased at Dollar General. First I used a small chicken wire stencil and texture paste to add dimension to the handle. Then I sponge dabbed the entire brush, including the bristles with several coats of white gesso. I also coated all my chipboard pieces with gesso as well, including the Mini Webs, Skull and Bones, 3/4 Mini Gears and the title “31st” from the Halloween Word Set.
I arranged all my chippies to my liking along with fabric and paper flowers from Prima and WOC, pearl stamen, a metal flower filigree, and some medical gauze. Next I went in with my Glimmer Mist sprays. Starting at the top with my darker colors including Black Magic and Tarnished Silver, then working with my lighter colored sprays Sugar Silver and Frost and finally ending with white at the bottom of the paint brush. Once my sprays were completely dry I went over some of the raised areas with white gesso and a sponge dabber.
