Hi crafty peeps, hope your having a wonderful week. Well I’m a new designer here at Creative Embellishment Design Team, but once you get to know me you will realize how much I love Steampunk. I decided I really wanted a storage place to keep some of my trinkets that I use on my projects. Creative Embellishments has some of the coolest Steampunk chipboard pieces around. So here we go…
I purchased this pine box at Hobby Lobby for $6.99 and used a 40% coupon… Awesome buy !
I added lots of wonderful textures to the outside and stamped the base with Andy Skinner’s Industrial Stamp set that provides that nice cracked look.
The gear & propeller chippies were perfect for this and they withstood all the product I gobbed on. For my steampunk dress form, I added SnowTex to my wings to provide a nice texture, and lots of glitter Stickles were added to the bodice.
Using some items from the hardware store (plumbers metal tape and mesh tape) really provided some nice added touches and texture as well.
The pipeworks chipboard pieces were ran through the Vagabond with a texture fade and then DI Stain was added. My chipboard title from the Inspire Word Set was colored with Tarnished Brass DI Stain.
I hope this has provided some inspiration. It’s always fun to have pretty containers to hold your crafty objects in and now it will be easy to locate some of my favorite Steampunk items when creating my next project. Awesome Idea it’s gorgeous!
What a wonderful idea. I have several wooden trinket boxes, at first I didn’t realize your project had a glass cover, lol, silly me! I will have to buy one with a lid and do the same, thanks for the inspiration! 😉
