Happy New Year! Hope this is your best year yet!  For my project, I was inspired by the snow in the inspiration photo and for the twist, I used gesso and modelling paste on my project.  I used the Snowflakes Stamp for the background, the Let It Snow Title, Pine Trees and Reindeer Chippies as well as the Wood Snowflakes.  I am going to hang this in my front foyer in a black shadowbox frame to give it that winter feel.  Come and play along with us!

Happy New Year everyone! It’s a new month and a New Year, time to relax after such a busy end to 2014 for me.  I used January’s inspiration picture for the colors and just the layout of the picture..and the twist- use something on your page/ project to create texture…modeling paste, gesso, pumice, etc. I created this layout for a friend and my chippys used are the Pussy Willow and pieces from the Moroccan Lattice Panel. I hope you all play along with us!

Happy New Year from me too! I made a tiny (about 4″ x 8″) canvas with a lot of Creative Embellishments chipboards. Sometimes I like to use only one or few words of chipboard quotes or sayings, for example “From this moment” I want to use only “this Moment”, or “This”. Now, what to do for all the left overs? Use them for dimensional canvas! I used a lot of gel medium to adhere all the bits and pieces from left over chippies, and I also added those lovely Winter Branches to make the final WOW-effect. I colored this canvas with mists, with black gesso and with acrylic paints. Should I do a process video for you? I was inspired by winter-theme and cold accents, and of course there is modelling paste used, too.

Happy New Years everybody!  I am so happy to present my first layout for 2015, “With Love”.  I was inspired by the warm soft flow of the inspiration photo.  I created texture on the tag by using a stencil and molding paste.  The gorgeous chipboard pieces (Birds  With Love Ornate Hanging Sign  Window Shutters 2 )received a light coat of brown ink topped with golden glaze and finally dusted with a softer shade of brown.  The Ivy Spray was very gently brushed with green ink.  I hope this has inspired you to take your creativity to new heights this year!

For my layout I was inspired by the snow in the inspiration picture. I am sure by now you all know I love snow. I used a few different mediums on this layout to add texture. For example gesso on the background that I stamped the distressed snowflake image over in black. The snowflake 2 frame was altered using black ink for the base and 3d stamp paint in white. I altered the chipboard snowflakes with a little 3d stamp paint and brushed pewter distress stain. I altered the chipboard birds and berry branch the same. I altered the imagine chipboard word from the DREAM word set using gesso for the base. I applied black ink to the bottom half and in the middle some brushed pewter stain for the ombre effect. The flourish 4 piece I simply applied black soot distress paint and 3d white stamp paint by viva.

Happy New YEARS!!!! Whoot Whoot!! Let me just say I adore out inspo pic for our challenge this month! Isn’t it just GORGEOUS?! I think the colors and tones capture the essence of winter for me. So I tried to repeat the feeling in my card. With the browns and blue hues and over all wintery feel. For the twist I used Aleene’s True Snow to cover the chippy pine trees and some gesso and 13 Arts glitter paint for the snowflakes and snowflake frame. I edged them with a little inker in dark rust to keep with the earthy feeling.  For the background I used the snowflake stamp along with a older stamp to give a wintery scene. For a little extra boost of texture I added in some good ole cardboard and layered my card up! The papers are from this months KOM at Flying Unicorn they are the delish Riddersholm “Vintage Venture” YUM! Lots and Lots of fun this month playing along with the challenge!! Hope to see you all playing along with us!!

Another fabulous picture to draw inspiration from this month and boy, was I inspired!!!  Given the time of year, I knew I wanted something to incorporate the new beginnings ahead and what better than a New Years Decoration!!!  I was drawn in by the silver and grey sky line so I added silver glitter to my molding paste and created a circle pattern around the hat.  I was inspired by the beautiful gold/brown hue of the trees and decided to use a gold ink and mist to color my wings (wing set 1)!  By the way… absolutely LOVE these wings!!!!!!!!!!!!  I added in my numbers on some white sticks and voila!!!  Happy New Years folks 🙂

When i saw this month’s challenge picture i immediately knew i wanted to do a layout on a white backround. The white just screamed at me! And since i don’t live where it snows, that was quickly ruled out.  I created this layout with the focal point across the center of the page so that the white would act as a frame, similar to the challenge photo. And for the twist i used modeling paste and Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals to add some circles and hearts on a diagonal, to draw your eye across the photo and journaling. My flourish  i decided to leave raw, i liked how it looked with the warm colors in the paper. I can’t wait to see how you were inspired by this challenge!!

Happy New Year.  Hope you are all staying warm this winter.  I made a 12″ wall hanging for the challenge using 7 Dots Studio Cold Country Paper.  I love all the visual texture that paper already has.  After constructing the rosette, I added splatters of Heidi Swapp sprays in Teal, Black, and Tinsel.  I added around randomly in spots Prima ArtExtravagance Texture Paste in silver and edged the whole thing with a Prima chalk edger in Black Coal.  The trim around the center is a trim dyed in the same sprays I used to splatter.  I fussy cut an image from Tim Holtz found relatives and added a crown.  My favorite part is all the chippies.  I sprayed using various glitter blast sprays to add texture and shine then added some of the sprays over the top to get various shades over the snowflakes, clock hand snowflakes, and the snowflake frame #2.  To finish it off, I added bits of the  harlequin lattice underneath the trim and black and white spray splatters to the whole thing.
