Thanks to everyone who played along this month!!
Wow we are halfway through summer already! It’s August challenge time! This month be inspired by the picture and for the twist use a song title for the title of your project. Easy peasy!! Don’t forget to mention in your blog post how you were inspired by the picture. (challenge rules at the end of the post)
Now onto the amazing DT reveal!!
I love song lyrics challenges and I even found a perfect title piece in the store for this challenge!! My favorite part of this LO is the cute little film strip on the photo! I added a couple hearts to finish the LO.

I was moved by the yellows and browns in the inspiration photo and the song that inspired this layout is “My Wish” by “Rascall Flatts” I did a lot of background work on this project so i incorporated four of the stamps into the background along with one of the 6×6 Panels and the Together Frame Set.

This months inspiration photo inspired me on this little card I have made. I loved the swirl of flowers on the inspo photo and the gold tones of color. My title is from Pharrell Williams song “Happy”. I have used a frame from the Fancy Rectangle Frame set and cut it into 4 pieces…one for each corner of the card. I also tucked in pieces of the Moroccan Lattice Panel with the clusters.

When I saw this month’s challenge, I knew in an instant which picture I’m going to use! To create my layout I used the color palette from the inspiration photo, but I added also red and black to match the colors of my picture. And for the title of my page I used one of my favorite Michael Jackson’s song “You Rock My World”.
I sprayed my background with brown and red Glimmer Mist and when the paint has dried I stamped a random pattern using black ink and Creative Embellishments Distressed Chicken Wire Stamp.
Embellishing my picture was easy. I altered my center piece – the Steampunk Guitar – with bronze embossing powder and I added a few extra cogs using Mini Gears Set 3/4″ and Gears 1″ set.
For my title I used the large frame from the You Rock Frame Set, which I altered with red glittery embossing powder. To finish off my design I added a subtitle #CUTE, using one of the words from the Social Hash Tags set.

Hello all! I love the inspo this month! Music is one of my favorite things next to scrapping! Last month was mine and my hubby’s 21st Anniversary. We took a little trip alone and celebrated it. We actually got off course on our journey to our destination. It was a good thing tho. We found this wonderful park in Mammoth Springs AR. This photo was actually taken at the park. I used the twist part of the challenge this month and used the song “Faithfully” by Journey as the title to my LO. This was our dating song. Seemed to fit together like peas and carrots! The yummy papers from from Flying Unicorn’s August KOM and the yummy Creative Embellishment chippies danced together to create a wonderful magical page to remember our special day together!
For the purple BG I used the Grunge Music Note BG Stamp. I just used a Prima Little inker in pastel Violet to ink up with. Keeping with the Music theme.
The Wavy Music Note Boarder was colored with a Faber Castell big pen brush (Manganese Violet) then I used the little inker in the pastel violet to highlight in a few areas. For the final touch on this piece I used some versa mark ink and some Pearl Ex Gray Lavender to dust with in random areas.
I used one of the Iron Fence set for the fence area. On this piece I first colored it with a little inker in pastel brown, then stamped with a tatter angels stamp that was a small crackle. Then I went over again with Cloud White Dew Drop inker. I loved the way this turned out. It looks so distressed and yummy!
The Lamp Post was done in the same manner as the Music note border. Just with a little addition of some pearls.
Hope to see you playing along this month with us!
I had a ton of fun with the inspiration picture this month. Music is a big part of my life. Pandora is playing on my sonos almost all day. No TV for this chick. The pictures in this layout were from my sons 21st B-day. It tickles me when everyone is having a good time. One of my fave songs is Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince.. I was inspired to use the colors and the music elements from the picture above. I stamped our music sheet note image using black soot stain to the background paper. I altered the Summertime title piece woth and ombre effect using prima chalk edgers in yellow and orange. The chicken wire panel I cut apart and applied Tim holtz brushed pewter stain. The wavy music border I heat embossed using weathered wood distressed powder. I then applied a bit of black ink and gesso here and there for more of a distressed look. I altered flourish 14 the exact same way. The hexagon pieces I framed the pictures with I simply added black with a Faber castell big pitt pen. The wood veneer music notes were altered with a yellow and orange Faber Castell big pitt pen.
