Happy hump day! Nicolle here today sharing a layout. Recently Dinosaur restaurant opened up here locally. My son Bret went with his great aunt. I think it was a hit since she took pics. Thinking back to when Bret was a young boy he actually loved watching Jurassic park and The Land Before time. He also had a bunch of dinosaur toys. I kind miss those days a little. That reminds me I actually have a picture of him with a dinosaur on his shirt. Oh to reminisce …;)
Starting with the background stamped images. Thinking of dinosaurs skin textures and coloring I tried to mimic the scale like, rough and crackly look with me stamped images. I stamped the circle bokeh images in the colors of mowed lawn, rusty hinge, forest moss and vintage photo distressed paints. Through the center of the layout I stamped our distressed crackle image using black soot distress stain.
For the out of this world frame I first sprayed some goose bumps texture spray. I applied pine needles distress stain, forest moss, mowed lawn and vintage photo paints to the frame. For added texture I applied rock candy crackle paint and to make it pop I added black soot stain. I was again trying to achieve a dinosaur skin like texture.
For flourish set 1 and frond set 3 I first sprayed a bit of goose bumps texture spray to the raw chipboard pieces. I then applied pine needle and fired brick distress stains as well as mowed lawn distressed paint.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by the blog. Remember the product images below will take you directly to the CE store.
What a great page! My son wanted to be a paleontologist for years after Jurassic Park 🙂
Another cool page and such a fun story!
