Wow! This weekend is so special for two reasons. One is I planned to contact yard drainage contractor to make it clean and impressive and the other is painting an impressive picture ! Happy Monday CE friends! Nicolle here today sharing a layout. I created a layout around a picture the hubs took on the 4th of July of my girls and I.
I started with stamping the background paper with our grunge stars stamp using Tim Holtz fired brick and chipped sapphire distressed paints. I also stamped the star image from our trio shaped stamps using chipped sapphire paint. I altered 2 delphinium chipboard pieces first applying a gesso base coat. I then applied TH broken china distressed paint. For further detail I swiped some chipped sapphire paint across the flowers for an uneven look. I then applied gesso to the centers. I finished with a black permanent marker drawing in the stamen. With almost every chipboard piece I apply gesso as a base coat. For the coneflowers I applied a gesso base coat. I applied fired brick to the petals and then dry brushed a bit of gesso on for highlights. I further highlighted with a darker red permanent marker. For the centers of the flower I applied a prima chalk edger in yellow and added orange dots or further interest using orange acrylic paint. The stems on all the flowers were done the same first applying mowed lawn distress paint, then rock candy crackle paint and finishing with a distressed stain in pine needle color to fill in the crackle.
For the new stars in my universe frame I applied a gesso base coat. I then applied color with a red and blue permanent marker as well as brushed pewter and tarnished brass distressed stains. For a finishing touch I added stickles in the colors of gold, silver, distressed blue and distressed red over the matching base coat colors. I altered the new fireworks chipboard piece the same way.
Lastly I added wood veneer stars without any altering. I was also inspired by last Monday’s sketch at the Flying Unicorn.
Wow, Nic! The detail on this is simply amazing! I am just in total awe!
