Happy Thursday friends! Nicolle here today sharing a layout. July 5th my oldest son Ryan turned 21. Yes 21!!! I very often say this buuuuutt its very true, TIME FLIES!!!! It feels like only yesterday when I was pinching his chipmunk cheeks. He was a chubby baby and oh so adorable. It brings me to tears thinking about it. He was truly an perfect baby and amazing young man. He’s not a man of many words. Ryan’s a sweet, understanding and helpful adult. Reminds me a lot of my dad. Nesxt month my 2nd oldest son Bret will be turning 20. Haaa he was the total opposite of Ryan as a baby. He got into everything. Definitely kept us on our toes. Enough reminiscing…..onto the layout.
Let start with the background. I used many of our stamps on this layout. Little chunks of the images here and there. I stamped the film strip stamp 1 image using a grey faber castell big pitt pen in cold grey. I also stamped the image using distressed black soot stain. The binary stamp image was stamped with distressed paint in chipped sapphire. If you look around the page I stamped sort of a border using the distressed checker stamp and chipped sapphire paint.
For the film strip frames I first applied modeling paste. I used my finger to create the slightly raised texture. I then applied weather wood distress paint. To help make the texture pop I lightly applied chipped sapphire distress paint. The mini steampunk clock I applied chipped sapphire for the base coat. I then stamped our distress crackle image with black soot stain. The gears were altered simply with weathered wood distress paint, black soot stain and chipped sapphire.
For all of the chipboard wavy film strip borders I applied a base coat of weathered wood distress paint. I then applied rock candy crackle paint. To make the crackles pop I applied chipped sapphire distress paint.
For the title pieces. The number 21 I simply applied weathered wood paint. Birthday was altered with a base coat of chipped sapphire and then I dabbed weathered wood and white picket fence paints here and there.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by! Have a creative Thursday!
You rocked this baby out! All the background treatment, man o’ man! Love your chippie choices and what you did to them 🙂
Yup, it does go quick. I remember my 33 yr old being born like it was yesterday!
Fabulous! I love the altered chip pies and all the stamping. My son Ryan turned 22 on July 4th lol. It’s hard to believe they are so grown up.
Totally awesome layout! Love how you use those chippies!!
