TGIF!  Nicolle here today. What a busy tiring week. A little worried today because the insurance guy is coming out to access the damage on our car. Yep the second accident this year. This time it was my Kayla girl. My kids love to learn the hard way. I just dread what her accident is going to cost.. I wish we would have bought a car that was less expensive and crappy. Instead we opted for a brand new one. Mainly because our luck with cars isn’t so hot. We have had many cars that cost us a fortune mechanically. Well anyway a bit more unneeded stress. I am really hoping its only bumper damage on our car so the hubs can replace it himself and save some serious moola. Well I will not continue to bore you with my crap luck.

Today I am sharing a layout of my cousin and I. We have been close since we were young and very close in age. The photo was taken on Sunday at our barbecue. Memorial day is always spent with family. We always have a blast and lots of laughs.

I started with stamping the distressed brick image with Tim Holtz mahogany distress stain.  The heart border was altered using tim holtz distress stain in mahogany and paint in fire red. The seagrass was altered with tim holtz green distress paint.  I applied gesso for a base coat to the picket fence. I then applied antique linen distress paint. Lastly I haphazardly applied white picket fence distress paint, maya gold in grey and pewter distress stain. I was trying achieve a sort of aged look. Flourish set 6 was altered with a base coat of black ink and distressed stain in pewter.

I tried to continue the flow and altered the flourish similarly to the design on the papers.
