Hi CE friends!  It’s already time for the February challenge.  We have an inspiration picture below and for the twist use one of the words you see in the picture somewhere on your project.  There are so many possibilites with this picture. For example you can use one of the bold colors, be inspired by the flourishes, use a texture or mask on your background. Again let the photo inspire you and remember to add at least one of the words from the picture to your project. Easy Peasy!! The possibilities are endless. Most of all have FUN!!!!  Please take a peak at the guidelines at the end of this post.

 Doris’ layout turned out amazing and she stayed very close to the inspiration picture. Here’s what she had to say about it…..

For my example, I started out with solid white cardstock. Since the wispy white lines that are evenly spaced in the inspiration image reminded me of sheet music, I used the CE grunge music note sheet background stamp with matte multi-medium to create a resist. I did not have a text stencil, so I used the closest thing I had, which is a ledger stencil with blended fibers. That also works as a resist. I then went over the whole page with various amounts of black soot distress stain to create a dark background like that of the image. From there, I was inspired by the flourishes, colors and layering. The words I used from the picture were Dream , Love and Everything. To help me create the page, I also used the Monday Mojo sketch from Flying Unicorn as inspiration for my page design.

Love Everything About You

 

I was inspired by the inspiration picture very differently then Doris. For my example I was inspired by the hot pink and black colors as well as the flourishes and textures. I layered two backgrounds stamps..the hearts stamp (in which I used a grey Faber Castell Big Pitt Pen) and the new distressed grid stamp (which I applied black soot distressed ink to before adding to the page). I used some hot pink paint on a couple heart wood veneers and added a bit of black soot stain around my page to add the black from the inspiration picture. I used the words Happiness (top of page, a pink paislee rub on) and Everything.
